Thread: How Important is your videogame Collection to you?

  1. I don't own many games. I've pared down my collection to the titles that are special to me - games that I know I'll want to remember and replay years down the road for one reason or another. It was interesting going through the purging process, discovering which titles were worth keeping and which weren't. The titles I do own are as important to me as anything in my book or CD collection - important but I wouldn't save them if the house was burning down or anything like that.

I've realized in the last few months that I'm very close to being satisfied with my collection...satisfied permanently. There are a few upcoming titles I'm interested in, but mostly for multiplayer. In the meantime, if a new release catches my eye, I'll rent it, which usually sates my curiosity.

  2. My videogames are important to me, and I'll never part with them.

    Videogames won't:
    1) cheat on you
    2) divorce you and take 1/2 your shit
    3) get pregnant
    4) cry over stupid things
    5) leave you because you are fat/bald/etc.
    6) get moody if you're too busy to spend time with 'em

  5. Games are important enough that if I were to lose them, I better be making a good deal of money off my collection.

Meaning, I won't trash 'em, and I'd die if they stolen, but selling them is a-ok.

Just don't offer $1 for JSRF, like Gamestop did. I mean, come on now...

  6. In a sense, I would be completely bummed if I lost my collection of games, but at the same time it would be fun ot amass them all over again.

Sort of like in those double-crossing spy movies where the "booty" goes back and forth but you know both parties involved are having fun getting it when they don't have it.

    Sort of like that.

Basically, looking for suggestions on the best way to go about selling off a large collection... sell thing by themselves, or together, on eBay, or messages boards like this? Any advice people want to throw my way would be much appreciated.

(And I'll add how much it sucks to part with some things... although in a small way it might be nice to not feel defined by my possessions too).
    Ebay.

I sold a LOT of stuff through Trade Depot too.

I also reccommend calling Burgundy, he showed up at my house and bought a lot of my stuff.

Put it up in Trade Depot. You can move a decent amount of stuff there and it doesn't cost a thing.

You don't make ebay prices though. Everyone here is like Scrooge McDuck.

Without the money pit to swim in.

  10. Thanks, the advice is of course appreciated. I'll probably try the eBay route first, and then hit up TNL and SA message boards.
