It's funny how people are used to their regional speak. To me "soda" conjures up an image of a guy in a cowboy hat saying "Howdy y'all, can I have a soder?". Both soda and pop sound pretty stupid when you analyze them.

Like I could see coke being a generic name for cola. But I'm not calling a sprite a coke. That's just dumb.
