Thread: PS2 Component Cables....hard to find?

  1. PS2 Component Cables....hard to find?

since im not in the U.S i have to rely on mail order to buy my gaming accessories. Been trying to find the official Sony component cable(or anything better) for my PS2 and no such luck! i looked up most of the major sites on the net and theyr either dont carry then or they're out of stock. Is anyone having the same problem?

i have a cheap 3rd party PS2 component cable, but im very anal about getting a gold one.

i even looked on monstercable site, but everytime i try to check out my browser gives me errors.

  2. we havent gotten the sony brand ones in the store in a long long long long time now probably close to 2 years

Madcatz makes some and i want to say pelican but im not sure

with the monster cable brand your going to NEED a receiver and fiber optic cables because the mosnter brand does not have the RCA outputs for the sound on it so you have to use the PS2's Fiber optics out if you want any sound with them

I recently purchased monster brand component cables for my PS2 from local best buy and they did have the RCA audio connections. Perhaps they changed their design because people complained.

  4. I got lucky at EB and got a Sony cable for 3.99... I didn't see them anywhere else though.

eBay has them every now and then, but it's nothing fantastic.

  5. I know they're pretty easy to find at Future Shop in Canada. Since Future Shop is owned by Best Buy, maybe they'd have them in stock as well? Sounds entirely too obvious, but it's worth a shot.

  6. I got my Sony-brand cables at Best Buy a few months ago with no troubles.

    possibly

the only ones we ever seem to get are the ones with out the RCA for the sound

which i think is such a horribly stupid design

  8. nah, monster has always had both designs but the one with audio cables has always been quite difficult to track down. i bought a broken set off ebay a couple years ago so be careful.

the sony ones are cheaper and just as good. i found mine at best buy with no problems also a couple years ago. keep lookin'.

  9. i got tons of sony ones in my area. i splurged and got some cheapo $5 ones tho.

  10. do the gold plated oned make a difference compared to the regular silver ones?
