I did a quick search and didn't see a topic on this, so I figured I'd just make a new thread to ask:
Has anyone tried out Eyetoy: Groove? From what I can tell from the back of the box, it looks kind of like Samba de Amingo's gameplay... but is it good like Samba de Amingo?
I have/used the original Eye Toy bundle. It was pretty decent, although the mini-games were goofy. Samba de Amigo is a good comparison; a number of people have made that reference.
Well.....I gave it a shot but I had serious trouble putting the camera in a usable spot since my PS2 is hooked to the DDR machine and the top of the cab is way too high. All I can say now is that the technology works and the gameplay is strikingly similar to Samba de Amigo. Now the question is how much fun it is....
I'll hook it to a regular TV tomorrow and give it another go.
I remember having to move some things around for EyeToy: Play, which was my only minor complaint. That, and the fact I also had to play with a lot more light than I am accustomed to.
Yeah, I had to move some extra lights into the room. I think the biggest problem that I was having was that I was too close to the camera. My body was too large on the in-game image and I would trigger all of the hits early since my arms didn't need to be fully extended to hit the targets. The trick bar on the DDR machine prevented me from moving back any further.
