Oh yeah. Adventures of Heihachi is the most irritating side quest I've ever played in a video game.
Well, I beat it last night with a C ranking. I won't say nothing spoiler-wise, but I'll say that sadflkj adskljflk vlkjlak liqeutnlk Samanosuke Akechi! Also, one of the mocap actors was named "Yoda Poon" and that had me laughing for a good 5 or 10 minutes straight last night.

Heihachi Mishima from Tekken is in this game? How did Capcom pull that off?Originally Posted by cka

Nah some NPC dude with a spear.
I think they made the window for doing the criticals really small, otherwise the game would have been too easy. The criticals deal out so much damage I think decided to make them tough to pull off. I could be wrong, but either way, I really suck at doing them.Originally Posted by Do You Like Erotic?
Criticals in all three have been really difficult. On the other hand, they're MUCH easier to do in Onimusha Buraiden..

They're really easy to do in Onimusha 1&2, barring some bosses and really large enemies.Originally Posted by ViciousJazz
So anyway, I wanted to play the first two games before part 3 and found a pair of really cheap copies to go through. Onimusha (Warlords) was actually more fun then I thought it would be, although its pathetically dead-easy difficulty rather sucked. Outside of the Dark Realm Samanosuke only used healing items twice (once was on the last boss because I didn't feel like using a strategy and so just stood next it and pounded the hell out of it) and Kaede just ran past everything. The traps didn't seem to have much of a problem killing me, though, so I still faced that DIED screen a bunch.
After the 4+ hours that took to beat I booted up Onimusha 2 and started wondering what happened. It didn't have the choices for stereo nor the language selection that the first one had, but I figured since they couldn't even be bothered to subtitle the cutscenes in the first one (and a bunch of the subtitles weren't even right anyway) it was probably no big deal. I do like how this one seems much fleshed out regarding where you are with the town and the connection to the first, but the camera angles are so much worse. It's a lot harder to see enemies then it was in the first game and sometimes the camera is just retarded. Right now I'm fighting the idiot swordsman who's invincible, which has three camera angles in that fight. The middle one covers the whole playing field and then there's these two totally useless angles on each far side that only mean the boss can attack from off-screen. Way to go Capcom, the one angle works perfectly fine but you had to go and screw it up for absolutely no reason at all. I guess now I know what the DMC camera programmer worked on previously.
Also, that swordsman is ticking me off because he's not doing anything. I tried fighting him for a while but couldn't hurt him so I looked up a FAQ to see if truly was invincible. Sure enough, he was, and it told me to just block and swing and it would go to a cutscene. So I did, for five minutes straight until enough of his unblockables (which are faster then his regular attacks, oh joy) got through and killed me, and still nothing. Am I supposed to be doing something specific or is the game just dumb about having me fight an invincible?
One more thing: what's the difference between the versions of the first Onimusha? Is Warlords different from regular Onimusha, or was it just a name change for the hell of it?
I'm really amazed how no one at my EB picked it up. I went with a friend on Thursday so he could pick it up and they're we're 5 people on the pre-order list, i expected at least 20...
There's no real difference. Onimusha: Warlords is just the full title of the game. The only version of Onimusha where differences might appear is between the ps2 and xbox versions (Genma Onimusha).Originally Posted by MechDeus
