Thread: devil may cry 3 details

  1. Ugh, looks like what I hated most about DMC 1(the camera) will be returning.

  2. I, too, hate the camera in Capcom games, and a lot of games in general. I don't mind them throwing it to you, but at the same time it's still a cop-out in the end, sort of a 'we don't know what the fuck to do with it... here you try sort of mentality'.

The prequel aspects have me a little pissed off too. I don't want to replay and learn Dante's powers. I want to just evolve the character I already know. There's no build up to a character you already have been exposed to, TWICE already.

    Still, looks interesting.

  3. Eh, Dante looks kind of dumb with those brown pants and strap across his chest. I would fix that ugly design by giving him a black turtle neck or button down shirt and make the pants red.

The features epmode listed sound cool and all but they should just retain the great architecture of the first as well as the solid, tight gameplay and keep the cooler flashy stuff from 2 like the behind the back shot, wall flipping/acrobatics and stuff like that.

I'm also disliking this whole prequel bullshit, nothing really good ever come out of them.

Capcom develops Devil May Cry 3 Halbdaemon Dante rages with a new combat style system still more enormously against the creatures of hell and faces a merciless enemy: Its brother.

30.04.04 - The American 'PlayStation Magazine' reported in its newest expenditure over Devil May Cry 3, which is with Capcom for PlayStation2 in work. The hero is as half in both predecessors again the Dante - half humans, Daemon. Spielerisch is identical the third part to its two predecessors: Dante zerhackt with the sword gehoernte wolf creatures and halfdecayed knights, with pistols he perforates a schnaufenden Minotaurus.

But the weisshaarige sword fighter is clearly younger: Devil May Cry 3 acts some years before the first part and Dante is about at the beginning of 20. It is dreist and draufgaengerisch, knows however still nothing about its origin or his over uebermenschlichen forces.

Devil May Cry 3 begins with a film sequence in real time diagram, which reminds strongly of the original. Dante is in its office, is however still no Daemonenjaeger. Also the name 'Devil May Cry' its shop does not carry yet. A telephone rings. Dante comes from a Hinterzimmer with wet hair, because it was straight under the shower. Suddenly it steps a chair, which whirls by air and lands perfectly behind the desk. Dante throws itself on the chair, puts the legs on the table and goes to the telephone: 'Tut me wrong, we do not have yet geoeffnet.' It schmeisst the listener into air, which shows the camera in large admission: 'Mein God, I did not open yet and wars already for Kunden' - the listener slams on the telephone. In the same moment a strange man enters the shop.

The scene reminds of Trish, when it visits Dante in the original: 'Bist you Dante, son of the legendary dark knight Sparda?', the shape asks. Dante is not received drauf: 'Wenn you the bath to use wants, geh' to the rear... ' But it says to the foreigner that he has an invitation for Dante - from his brother! In the same moment skeleton-like creatures with scythes storm into the area, from which a Dante meets into the chest. It pulls the scythe out, rises and goes to the Jukebox.
Hard skirt music sounds by the scenario: 'So ist's besser', Dante said and strikes the Bestien into pieces. At the end of the fight it sets in its completely destroyed office again behind the desk and takes themselves a piece Pizza from the cardboard... Called Capcom the category of the first work 'Stylish hard Action', is the third part of 'Stylish Crazy Action' its. But the 'crazy' is to be equated not with spirit ill. Rather is the coole 'stylish' Action up from link into the actual play to be transferred and to breath-robbing moments lead: Many this so-called 'Stylish Action Features' not on the E3 in playable demo to be seen will have, in order not to spoil the surprise.

Dante has one sword at the beginning only. The well-known pistols 'Ebony & Ivory' are added later and are an important role to play. It gives a new 'Style System', with which one selects a certain combat style at the beginning of the play (Gunslinger, Swordmaster, Trickster, Royal Guard, uvm.).

Each style has pro and cons. Who particularly stands on engagements with pistols, Gunslinger selects. Later one distributes received points into individual categories Gunslinger style, gets thereby new abilities and forces. All ring is less agil and akrobatisch Dante with this specialization than with the Swordmaster style. Likewise it is weaker in the fist-fight or with Kicks, on which the Royal Guard style concentrates. Producer Tanaka wants by the new system the player more free space to give and him determine let, to which Dante develops. That play-feel is in Devil May Cry 3 therefore with each restart each time something else. The extent should be at least as high as with the first part, also the number of puzzles is in approximately identical. Dante control more actions than in in the fight many the two predecessors. There are more pistols and swords. The attack with two swords and the employment are new of impacts and footsteps. If one presses the key for the sword impact somewhat longer, one strikes particularly strongly too. The particularly strong Daemonenkraefte of Dante is still secret.

Tanaka says only that Dante will transform later completely into a Daemon. There is to be no longer as many extensive, open levels as in Devil May Cry 2, so that one does not only fight with the pistols. This time the team wants to create a balanced relationship between small and large sections, so that one makes use evenly from close and distance weapons.

Many scenes lie in the proximity of Dantes office. Later he comes into the Daemonenwelt, fights in an arena and also in a tower of its brother. For the representation a new 3D engine is used; in the second part one used still modified from Devil May Cry 1. This time completely new diagram effects are possible.

An opponent can form itself e.g. out of sand and out-spit sand with a hit. If the enemy is destroyed, it disintegrates again to sand. In the environment can be destroyed more objects than so far. Also more optical details are to have to be recognized: One sees Dantes pistols, if he does not use her. On its coat blazing flames reflect themselves in the proximity. Light and shade are more realistic, it give weather effects such as rains and nebulas. Altogether the diagram works more realistically and producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka wants to the visual style from Devil May Cry to return. The structure is based on individual missions, in which there are short pre and Abspaenne. There is to also be only very few videos before-computed computergrafik, most is real time. For these sequences Ryuhei Kitamura is responsible, that as well-known Actionregisseur at 'Versus' and 'The Returner' cooperated. It was last responsible to The twin Snakes (Gamecube) for all intermediate sequences in Metal Gear solvently. In some levels there is not a Boss, in others. Sometimes one has to do it also with more than only one final opponent. Dante fights among other things against a dreikoepfigen zerberus, whose ice breath the soil freezes and which wants Dante shock frosts.

The Bosskaempfe is to be more difficult than so far and not require Grips - as easily as in Devil May Cry 2 they are to have to be defeated not. A female character is new, to which still nothing details are said. The lady should not be playable however: By the new combat styles one wants to concentrate exclusively on Dante. The developer team consists of people, which cooperated in Devil May Cry 1 and 2. Who the Director of Devil May Cry 3 is, Tanaka does not betray. Shinji Mikami or Hideki Kamiya are not it. The current Director has however according to Tanaka 'Erfahrung in throwing Feuerbaellen'. Since over one year is scarce one on Devil May Cry 3 to works, which is to appear in the autumn2004 in the USA.
They also have an added scan. I'm impressed by the design aside from Dante himself(who looks more punk).

You must be using the Gamego theme. Hmm, I thought it converted white to black automatically. I'll try to find a neutral color for all the schemes.

Please... don't fuck this game up.

    Please.

German whiz CV says: "The gameplay in the third installment is identical to the first two: Dante uses his sword to slash demon wolves and zombies, and he uses his pistols to ventilate gigantic Minotaurs."

Not that you couldn't assume what it meant, but now you know exactly what it sats!
