My Gamecube died?

I think my GC won't power on anymore. I had it on when the power went out in the house for a few seconds. However, it was connected to a surge protector strip so I have no idea why it died. It's an old system, and if it's dead I guess I can get a new one with a different color. Any idea what happened or what I can do?

if you can, try a different power adapter. it may have fried but the cube could be ok.
