You can use DVD Backup to rip the DVD and take out the region encoding. Watch it from your hard drive or burn it.

Well, these are all fine and good, I suppose... if you have an RPC-1. I have an RPC-2.
However, I swear I was able to play an R2 and then switch back to R1 without my four switch limit being lowered, but now that I am trying it again... it's not working. I'm using DVD Region 1.5. Like I said, I definitely played an R2 disc a few months ago, switched back to R1 settings... And a few days ago went back to R2... and today, cannot get back to R1 without the limit being lowered to two.
Unless... I have to switch back to R1 [thereby lowering to limit to two remaining changes], and then use DVD Region to reset the limit?
I don't want to take a chance just yet... Anyone?
Oh, and I'm not going near that DVD Reset application linked on that page...

Yea, I've ripped a few DVDs before... But it's a pain in the balls to trim the files / burn a DVD... and just watching VOB files is no fun, either.
Might sound picky, I know...
