Thread: Slow Powerbook modem

  1. Slow Powerbook modem

My Powerbook has a 56k v.92 modem. I cannot connect to my ISP's dialup at full speed -- it's always 26400. Aside from crappy phone lines, slow/overloaded dialup modems, etc., is there anything I could try in 10.3.3 to make it faster?

That seems to be the average connect rate for any machines I've seen recently. ISPs are generally neglecting that stuff now.

  3. Yuck. Thankfully, Time Warner will finally get around to turning on my cable modem this weekend.

Assuming the tech knows how to get to the apartment complex down the street from their main office.
