Thread: Seriously considering Nova

  1. http://www.peterpayne.net/Merchant3/...tegory_Code=BJ

Another article on teaching in Japan

  2. I have no input on this Nova thing at all. I don't know anything about it.

However, I can tell you that some of the funnest times of my life were spent while I lived in a warehouse. Just because you're in a shitty situation doesn't negate that it could also be the time of your life.

In the spirit of that, I say do it regardless.
    Boo, Hiss.

  3. I am in agreeance with some others here - take a chance and go for it. Who knows if / when you will get the opportunity to do so again.
if ya see a sucker, cut him, don’t like perpetrators

Does that money go towards paying for your apartment/whatever? How much would that be a month? I had my apartment paid for, but beyond that, I lived off of around $600 a month.

  5. I'm thinking that you should go for it. I've always been told to "do everything while you're young" so you might as well take the oppurtunity to travel before it's too late. Even if the pay isn't that good, I agree with Icarus. Most of my life has been in a shitty situation but that never stopped me from enjoying it.

  6. If you can apply to JET, do it. It's by far the top of the english-teaching food chain in Japan. It's the government's own program so they're not sleazy, and they pay the best - between 32-36k Yen.

  7. JET is also much harder to get, and i'd have to wait till october to apply (i think) and probably wouldn't get to leave until much later than that.

  8. If you're a member of the neo-geo forums, shoot a PM to tsukaesugi, Rassilon or RBJakeSpecial. Between the three of them they can tell you everything you need to know about working at Nova (or Geos, which is a rival system).

    If that's for a week, that's ok.
