I love how everyone here acts like SEGA raped their dog. Their still trying to find their place in the post DC era. Wasn't it less than a year ago when TNL was splooging over F-ZERO? So they've had a weak year--get over it. If they become another Acclaim I'll eat my hat. TNL KILL YR IDOLS!!!

Oh and I think they have more games planned announced this year than last so take that as you willl. I still don't get where all this hate is coming from. Name me one absolutely horrible SEGA game that warrants all this shit Toe Jam & Earl III notwithstanding.

Why the fuck would they put up huge banners advertising The Matrix Online, and issue a press release today announcing that they are co-publishing it, when they said themselves that they would reveal their announcement May 12th in their conference room?

I thought the announcement was gonna be one of the following:

- Sega bringing back Zillion to current game consoles.
- Shinobi 2 announced, Joe Musashi(black outfitted without mask) returns.
- A new Fighter's Megamix game.

As for how I feel about the actual announcement? Indiferent, I have learned not to get hyped or expect anything good from so called "Big News", especially Sega.

it's not that they're putting out horrible games, it's that they used to put out nothing but AAA titles. for every vf4evo, they release 5 [pso v3/billy hatcher/crazy taxi 3/sonic heroes/gt online]s. it's cliched, but it feels like sega died with the dreamcast. or had a stroke.

The only thing stupid about that announcement is that they said it would be something really big. Matrix Online? I really don't think that Matrix Online is going to be that big of a thing. Especially after the shit that was the regular game. Even though it sold a quintillin copies, people were fucking upset at how shitty it was. Very few would come back to get bitten again...

If by that you mean critically-acclaimed (widespread, not by 2 "main" sources), then no, they haven't. No one does. The closest large publisher/developer (as in several games a year) would have to be Nintendo in that regard.

The announcement isn't TMO. Sega Ages releases in USA would be cool, other than the fact I'm already buying the imports. That would be possible though.
