Thread: E3 Bemani thread (DDR and Karaoke Revolution)

  1. E3 Bemani thread (DDR and Karaoke Revolution)

Konami updated their web page with some DDR Ultramix 2 info and screens:

    http://www.konamihwi.com/2004e3/e3info.php#

Looks to totally break away from the DDR style, at least as far as the interface goes. Battle mode looks cool. The more you attack your opponent, the further down the screen their arrows move giving them less reaction time. Of course this will all depend on the song list, but here's hoping. And if they crap out on the number of songs again and say "we'll make up for it with Live downloads", I'll kill them. Especially since they never really came through with the downloads for the first one.

  2. Theres a Bemani thread.

    Use it.

  3. It looks like shit. SHIT.

..but I'm probably still going to buy it.

C'mon now. You sound like the DDR Freak forums where they demand every single post be stuffed into one of 5 sticky threads that are 900 pages long.

It's stayin' out here! BWAAAA HA HA HA!!!

I like the look....but I hate what they did to Emi. She's not supposed to be sexy.

You have a thankfully dead thread about this kind of shit that is begging for new posts. I don't see the problem in using it.

Heres my opinion. The point of a sequel is to improve on bad design flaws. Ultramix was a living design flaw. They somehow made it worse. Like, twice as bad as Ultramix was. It's a shame really.

If it is thankfully dead, then you should be happy I didn't use it. Don't worry, it'll be getting hit with a bunch of IIDX 7th Style stuff real soon.

I passed on Ultramix myself...Do you know anything about this version that they failed to improve on/made worse? I was hoping this would turn out alright, and that Konami page doesn't give much info.

  7. Extreme (US PS2) info up at IGN.

most notable feature is EyeToy support.

i'm also too fucking lazy to dig up or make a new karaoke revolution thread, but info with the new song list is up too.

that shit is a day one purchase if only for I Believe in a Thing Called Love. fuck all you haters.

  8. Why do both of these games look so fucking stupid....

Especially after DDRMax2 was the first great US release and Ultramix was a somewhat-decent start. Leave it to KOA to screw it up.

  9. Wow, the US Extreme is really going out of its way to be something different than the Japanese release. I love it. That EyeToy support has real potential.

  10. EyeToy inclusion seems a bit iffy. i know Sl1p hates it with the passion, but i'd rather see it used for a ParaPara option than some stupid looking hand step thing.
