Yeah, I was thinking this, too. I guess what with the add-ons like the HDD and Network Adapter it would be hard to make a smaller system that was still compatible with those... I was at least hoping for Sony to lowball the PS2's price to combat MS's recent Xbox price drop, but no such luck.
