WWX: Rumble Roses

As many wrestling game fans here know, this game is coming out later this year, and is developed by the inventor of 3D wrestling games, Yukes, and the folks behind Firefighter F.D. 18 and the Winning Eleven games, KCET. Sufficed to say, I'm in heaven with that development pedigree.

I've seen a couple of vids of the game, and assuming what's in the ring was done with the real visuals of the game, we're all in for quite a treat. Fantastic move animation, realistic transitional animation (and jiggling), smooth animation for taunts, nice visuals for everything, like tons of lighting for the entrance area, and as a nice change of pace, a non-generic video playing in the video wall. Given who's behind this, and what I've seen thus far, I can't wait to get this game. Also there will be a mud match apparantly, time will tell how THAT ends up working out. It also features a woman apparantly being detained in a dungeon, and then espacing, as shown in the newest vid I've seen, which is just plain spooky.

The premise and the gameplay all look great but I'm wondering how much depth the game will have since there's no create mode.

Wrestling games had depth in them before CAW modes were commonplace, I'm sure this game will be just fine without one.

I like the fact that it's a completely original set of characters, and as such, Konami has free reign to make them all awesome, and have a bunch of col moves. Sometimes the developers are limited in the WWE games with what the wrestlers can actually do.

I'll keep my eye on it.

i forgot where i read it (i think PSM) but they said that each character is going to have two personalities, heel or face, to make for a bit more variety (possible new set of moves). and even though there's no caw, they're going to let you tweak the look of your character with clothing items (ala; DOAXB).

definitely going to look out for this one. too bad they dropped the WWX from the title, i thought it was kinda badass.
