Thread: Silicon X

  1. Silicon X

Looks like Silicon Knights have switched teams! According to The Magic Box Silicon Knights are now developing a new title for Xbox. Now my question is, is this title Too Human, or something glorious and even newer?

    - Silicon Knights is working on a new Xbox title, which will be officially announced in summer 2004.

Silicon Knights doesn't deserve its own thread, my friend. They are slightly less critical to the industry than Acclaim.

I personally am a fan of Silicon Knights, and have been a fan of theirs since Blood Omen for the original PSX. I loved Eternal Darkness, minus the part at the end where you need to get those damn pieces parts. They may not be critical now, but Dennis Dyack has some great tricks up his sleeve, and there is definately an underlying great quality in all of their games. I just guess to each their own. They may not dictate much in the industry now, but mark my words, once they put a few more great titles under their belt, ::ding ding ding:: we've got a winner.

You just proved my point. They did shit between Legacy of Kain and Eternal Darkness. Both were admittedly good games though.

From what I can tell, they didn't do anything inbetween Blood Omen and Eternal Darkness.

They released Cyber Empires for PC in 92, then Fantasy Empires in 93, both were for PC when they were an unheard of developer. Their next game was Blood Omen, and then Eternal Darkness after that was their next project. It was in development for N64 right after Blood Omen was released. So no, they didn't release anything inbetween Blood Omen and Eternal Darkness.

If you really want, just goto their website and check it out: www.siliconknights.com

There are many many more developers out there, who have released crap games, that get so much less respect than SK. Why do you think the news that Silicon Knights were leaving Nintendo was so big? Because they were some chump developer that didn't know their ass from their head? Or because they are a respected developer, who even though have not released that many games, have already proved that they easily have some sort of worth? It would definately have to be the latter of the 2.

  6. Yoshi dosen't know jack about gaming. He's a prehistoric ape whos most anticipated game is Metal Slug 3 for XBOX. What does that tell you? His opinion on everything and anything is instantly moot as he is the TNL cliche crammed into one person.

Aside from Twin Snakes, I've liked everything they've done so far and it's great to see them working on a platform that I'll support. It's just hard for me to fathom anything they'll do when all I know is, yeah, Blood Omen and Eternal Darkness.
    Play Guitar Hero //

  7. Heh, it will be interesting to see Denis squirm his way out of this one considering the things he said about the Xbox. XD

Any how this is kinda suspicious. It is hard to say if it is true or not considering how vague it is, and Magic-box is certainly not one known for it's exclusive news from the US.

  8. does it say they won't be developing anything else for the cube?
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  9. No they just said that SK is making an Xbox game that will be revealed this summer.

  10. i see.. then the phrase "switched teams" wouldn't be entirely accurate..

    wow.
if it's wrong to anticipate the mainstream release of one of the greatest games of all time, I don't think I want to be right.
