Thread: Hooray for hit & run accidents!

  1. Thumbs Up Hooray for hit & run accidents!

There I was just minding my own business slowing down to a stop sign. I look to my left, nothing, I look to my right, nothing, once more to the left, good to go. Just as I started to make my turn, BAM! The front left area of my car is immediately shattered to pieces, damages estimated at $1000. I wasn't hurt, scared, or nervous, but I was puzzled. "What....the....fuck....?"

Before I could come back to reality the white truck was already gone down the street.

The cops came, I filled out the report and so on, and went on home. Oh yeah, the hit & run happend four houses from my house.

My mom & dad went off for a drive just to look around, he couldn't have gotten far, it was a whie truck with right side damage and a flat tire. They gave me a call saying they found some police cars inspecting some driver and a white truck. It was close by, so I took off and had a look from afar, yup, it was him.

Now, my dad wanted me to go and confirm with the cops that this was indeed the vehicle, while they were with the other driver. Now, tell me I was in the right when I told my father that I wasn't going over there to interfere with what was going on. I don't want this guy to see me, or know where I live, even if it is "just" for a hit & run accident. I'm sure these fine officers know what are doing, and I'm sure I will recieve a call within the next day saying they caught the guy, and we can go from there.

  2. So, how was the guy going to know which house you lived in?

I doubt the cops will give you a call either. They have far more important things to do. Your insurance company might make the necessary calls though. Did you at least get the license plate number?

  3. That really sucks, I hope he dies of some genital disease the next morning. As long as you have insurance, it's not so bad, stuff happens.

Yeah, I see you point, I'm a little paranoid right now though.

    Got it.

You're going to have a hard time getting through life if you don't stop being such a pussy.

  6. Sorry to hear that. Hope the H&R driver has insurance.

My wife picked me and one of my friend's up from a bachelor party about 3 weeks ago and we got rear-ended by a drunk driver. I went to make sure he was ok, and then I flipped my phone open to call the cops. Dude asked me, "What are you doing?" I told him I was calling the cops. He then said "No, no, no" and tried to get out of his car. My best-friend who is a cop in another city made a move to get out of my wife's car and Dude jumped back in his, peeled out, jumped the curb, hit a building, got wedge between the building and a traffic light. Dude then floors it, blast thru the traffic light, carries it 20 feet into the intersection. Drunk Dude is then flying down the street at about 50 in a 25 on two flats on the left side. Meanwhile I'm on the phone, yelling at the dispatcher, "You gotta get someone down here now. This guy is going to kill someone!" They ended up finding the guy about 3 miles away. We had go itentify him and stuff. I wasn't to happy about that.
Best part, Dude has no insurance, so guess who's premiums are going up? Not to mention that we are out $250 for the deductable. We're planning on sueing him ourself to recoup the cost for the insurance company, to avoid our rate increase and get our deductible back.

BTW Shinobi, if he is charged with H&R on your vehicle, his and your name will appear on the accident report, so he will have access to your info. Not that it's a big deal.

  7. please fuck him over. Hit and run is one of the dirtiest things people can do. File a claim and make sure the police cite and fine him for running.

  8. I hope his ass get taken too. Hit and run is considered a criminal charge. A low level felony in some states.

  9. I'd urge you to pursue the matter on dogging his ass. Report the H&R to the cops! Come on, it gives some lowly grunt cop something to do If you (understandably) are afraid of your identity being known to the criminal, let the cops know. You, as always in these situations, have to go thru a lot of beaureaucratic paperwork, etc., but this guy shouldnt get away with this. I mean, sure, it's a smashup this time, but what if he hits a kid or someone next time? let it hang on his record.

  10. He may know who you are but you know who he is as well. Nail his ass to the wall if you have to.

It really shouldn't have to get ugly, he hit you and he owes you. Any stupid crap he tries to pull, well... You know who he is.
