Thread: Eidos releases Flirt Up Your Life

  1. Eidos releases Flirt Up Your Life

Looks like it's considered to be too racy to ship directly to retailers...so they're putting it online :P

Singles: Flirt Up Your Life gives gamers one new apartment and two shy roommates to build a comfortable living space and a steamy relationship. If you play your cards right, or the roommates for that matter, you can take them from vacuuming in the living room in their underwear, to caressing in the bedroom without the hindrance of clothes at all. And as they learn to "get along," you can build an awesome apartment for them to share including indoor and outdoor surroundings. Ultimately, players have the opportunity to create heaven on earth for these two lucky roommates.

Singles: Flirt Up Your Life is now available online as a downloadable demo on over 3,000 websites nationwide. Eidos is hosting the download both on the Singles: Flirt Up Your Life official website which can be found at http://www.singles-thegame.com/ as well as Eidos' website at http://www.eidos.com/ . The first hour of gameplay is free. After the hour has past, gamers will be given the option to purchase the game via credit card for $29.99. Once Singles is purchased, the rest of the game is then unlocked and the fun can continue on to the racier content. Singles: Flirt Up Your Life has been rated AO, meaning anyone under age 18 will not be permitted to view or play the Singles demo or buy the game. Eidos is strictly following ESRB regulations, therefore "age gates" are placed before the demo can be downloaded to block underage players.

Is this the first time ever there has been some sort of nudity in games? Either way, god bless it! I'm not buying the game (not when you'll be able to find it for free that is), but I think it's about time some sort of adult content got put into games.

    No.

  4. Hmm...I'll at least check it out for an hour. I'm sure it's not going to hold my interest beyond that fortunatly or unfortunatly.

  5. I played through Giants and deleted the file that put the top on the Sea Reaver, Delphi. She was supposed to be topless until Interplay remembered they didn't have a functioning set of testicles and had Planet Moon put a top on her. Planet Moon, however, made it ridiculously simple to remove the top with the deletion of a simple file, making all right in the world again.

Wasn't there some furor over the topless statues in the old Amiga/Genesis game Gods, back in the day?

I'm pretty sure Eidos could have released this game without problem to the gaming stores, I really doubt EB/Gamestop would have had an issue stocking it. I think they just knew sales would be low and used this as some cheap free publicity and an easy way to circumvent printing costs.

BrandX105- you can find any game free. I recommend you start a thread talking about good places to download them so we can all join in on the conversation.

  6. There is something really sad about a guy guy trying to create a "steamy relationship" in a video game when he doesn't have one in real life. It would be different if there was more to it than just this, like behaving in a way that would send you to prison if you did it in normal life or at the very least get the living crap beat out of you.

  7. jesus.. the demo is 416 MB!

they should really consider using bittorrent.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!

  8. Could this be the first AO game ever released by a large company? The game looks awful but I never thought I'd ever see the AO rating be utilized.

  9. I played it for about 20 minutes, you can make the characters run around naked, other than that I didn't get them to do any more than kiss.

I have no interest in buying it but I find it sad how they won't sell it through regular retail channels. You can buy an R-rated movie with nudity pretty much anywhere. Why must a double standard still exist for gaming? Less than a decade ago EB sold adult video games and PC mags had ads for them. Since then gamers have gotten older yet access to adult games has become far more restricted.
