installing a printer without a install wizard

I was charged with the task of installing a printer on a computer with an inoperable "add printer wizard". How do I install it manually? Do I just find the driver and copy them to the appropriate folder? The computer is Win ME.

Find out the computers maker and goto their website. They usually have updated drivers and installers for you to DL. Just make sure you have the printer unplugged and all other printer files deleted, before you install.

I had to put a printer on this new comp and the cd was out dated(well not compatable with XP) so thats what I had to do to install it on this comp.
