I am a huge fan of the first two games myself.

Just check out the new weapons, packs, and changes to old ones. I can see Captain America skins being made for buckler use.

A closed beta has already begun, but an open one will start sometime this summer!

Tribes had the WORST default controls in the world. They need to stop trying to make us play by their set up and make the game work by the common WASD set up. The games are both really fun, but I hated that the maps were so huge that it would take you more time to travel between places than to actually spend time getting shot.

Tribes 1 uses WASD, while Tribes 2 used ESDF. In the end it doesn't really matter since all keys can be changed to your liking, ala every other FPS. ESDF is actually a a more logical way to play as it gives you more keys around your left hand and it IS the normal typing position.

Even though most maps are big, once you learn to ski (which is being emphasised in Vengeance) you are like a speeding bullet.

I share a love of Tribes as well, more the first than the second but I don't hate the second like most people do. Vengenance looks much better, and it's being done by Irrational, who did Freedom Force (awesome) and System Shock 2 (awesome). So it's in good hands.

While I personally don't care for the increased emphasis on single player, I'm sure some people will find it engaging. All about the multiplayer though

The original Tribes may be my second favorite online FPS ever, behind only CS. Really miss my clan days playing as an HPB. I was great at sneaking into enemy bases with heavy armor and mortaring the shit out of everything in there, it was great!

Tribes 2 was disappointing by comparison, I didn't outright hate it but there was a definite indifference to it all. They just seemed to make the maps a little TOO big and did some other tweaks to the game that just killed the fun, one of the most disappointing sequels ever, really.

I hope Vengeance takes the series back to it's roots, I guess when the open beta becomes available I'll know

I tried the first Tribes game when they were offering it for free, holy shit does it suck now. Its ugly as sin, its slow, the level design is weak... I hope the guys making Vengeance threw that game out the window when they were designing this.

I loved the first one, I was a helluva turret farmer.

Second one stunk, mostly because of my PC, but also because the maps were just too frickin HUGE!

Hopefully they'll get this one right. If they do, I'll be shellin out the dough for a new PC just to play this one right!
