This "kid" is in his 30s. I heard an interview with him on NPR once (no shitting). He said he ran the site as a way of keeping in touch with his inner 13-year-old. It was a pretty good bit, and as far as I know the only time he's been interviewed out of character.
Oh, but while the whole thing is, of course, a schtick, I was happy to learn that the hatemail is all completely real. I would have hated to have had that ruined for me.
