    The Cars - 8 Additions

Subaru 22B STi - One of the most famous Subaru's ever made, this wideboy will give you a run for your money. It is the car all Subaru owners want, and now you can get it too.

Ariel Atom 2 - This light weight open wheeled car uses the Civic Tyre-R engine and couples it with a superlightweight frame and rear wheel drive control. This car handles like a dream, a really nice dream indeed

Dodge RAM SRT-10 - The latest supertruck from Dodge and a world record holder. This extreme beast has an 8.3 litre Viper engine to push it over 150mph. And yes, it is in fact a truck.

Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi - 1970's ultimate muscle car. It's a Dodge Challenger, need we say any more?

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - The latest car to leave Ferrari's garage. Boasting 199mph and a fresh new design, this car, 4 seats or not, is still an incredibly fast machine built for speed and style. It achieves both admirably.

Volkswagen Nardo - With 600+ horsepower in a unique W12 engine, the Nardo is VW's supercar competitor. Another addition to the big boys with it's sleek curves and AWD acceleration, how will it fare against some of the fastest cars in history?

Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport - The new GT2 in all it's glory. Tighter handling, tweaked performance, and the unmistakable 911 body, it is an ultimate track Porsche.

Radical SR3 Turbo - Last, but definately not least, the Radical SR3 Turbo. Currently the laptime record holder for the Nurgburgring, this Suzuki Hayabusa bike engine powered track monster makes up for it's lack of top end grunt through insane acceleration and unparalleled grip. This car is on rails, will the TVR drivers be able to hold it off?

So thats the cars then, but what about the new city?

Long Beach City - 8 New Tracks

Starting with the famous Long Beach City race track we've got 8 new tracks for you to test your meddle against. Middle of the road dividers, abrupt elevation changes, long sweeping straights and kudos generating hairpins turn this is one of the most varied, rewarding and challenging cities in the PGR series.

But while you're racing round you also get to enjoy the sunny palm tree lined streets of Los Angeles. Past the convention centre, down Ocean Drive and powersliding in front of the Westin. It's all there and it's all bathed in that classic LA sunshine. Bring sunblock.

  2. Subaru 22B STi - Meh. Im not a huge fan of Japanese "Performance" Seems to be a better handling WRX, not much else, best suited for Pacific Muscle class.

Ariel Atom 2 - Tight handling, quick, fun to drive...Best suited for roadsters.

Dodge RAM SRT-10 - The Truck i'd run my own mother over to get. Pretty good speed and damn good handling considering its a near 5000 Lbs pickup. Best suited for Sport Utes

Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi - Yeeeeeah baby...Vintage Mopar Muscle at its finest, just dont attempt any hairpins. Nice touch having all the classic 70's colors available. Nice to kick someones ass in a Panther Pink one. Best Suited for American Muscle.

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - Kind of feel this is only here to keep Ferrari Happy. Nothing special, super-car class..

Volkswagen Nardo - Suited for ultimate, could give the CLK and possibly the TVR a good run.

Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport - Better brakes the the regular GT2, updated styling. Not much else.

Radical SR3 Turbo - Woah. Just Woah. If there arent any long straights, the TVR has something to worry about.

Long beach is fun so far, a bunch of short to medium length tracks..

  3. Considering that I put about 30 mins into Paris, I'm undecided that I even want this.

The selection of cars this time does seem a lot better, but is it still a situation of only using the new cars on Long Beach?

  4. Well, everyone was using them pretty much exclusively last night, but the new factor was there.

Like anything on PGR2, it all depends on whos running the game, Had an awsome few runs in Hong Kong with the Radical (that car just seems made for those courses) and we did an all SRT Ram 'Ring run. Any of the Ults Vs. The Nardo were good runs, as well as American Muscle cars Vs. The Hemi Challenger.

They really need to insert the cars in the correct classes, so you can run a class restriction and still keep the new cars involved, but unlike the paris booster, where the cars were a letdown and the track was good, Id say this time around the Cars were better additions and the track was sorta Meh.

The game still needs some Lamborginis, The Chrysler ME-412, The Bugatti Veyron, Any Mclaren and the New Shelby cars. Toss in NY, SF or London from the first game, and call it a complete package.

  5. what's the wallet damage on these download packs?

  6. 5 dollars.

  7. Been putting more time into this 2nd DLC pack.

It's much better than the first, both tracks and cars, but the only way to race in a non-Radical S3 all over race, is to host one.

I have only seen one person ever use a car besides the Radical from the group, and that was some guy using the C6 during a supercar race.

  8. looks like the premium downloading thing was a bad idea. if they're so interested in charging the userers for content, they should have only charged for the tracks. that way, there wouldn't be these lopsided car classes. it might also give them extra incentive to make the tracks better. i haven't played the la track, but the paris courses are very forgettable.

  9. Well, it's not really lopsided, per se. Obviously, everyone has all the cars in the class, so it's not a problem to have everyone even. It's nothing like going into a SuperCar race and not having bought the Delphino or anything.

The Radical is about on par with the Speed 12, maybe even a shade better on the low end, but loses on the top end.

I haven't checked out the other cars, but, they do have a wide range of speed and such, so if one person takes the Radical, everyone does.
