  2. Sadly, this is a no-go.

Orochi and I tried this a few days back, and my PC runs the game at 1FP3S.

    Yes, that's 1 Frame Per 3 Seconds.

Seemed cool, though, so it's still in the running with WOW for MMORPG when a new PC is built.

  3. Oh man, I cannot wait to incapcitate roufuss.

out of curiosity, was this in a regular place, or was this on the city of coronet, because most people get really bad slow down there, particularly near the cantina, where i used to get nearly 1 frame per half hour. ram was key for me, but even now that place is slowdown area, so if that was the case, done entirely write it off.

  5. What a depressing day in Star Wars Galaxies today. Ill give you the story.

I logged on in Dantooine and got buffed for the purposes of joining a solo group and earning some cash. So I picked up a few missions in the 20k credit range and headed out, and as soon as I started fighting, I realized there was a problem: my action pool was getting destroyed in a way that never happened when I killed quenkers (what I used to grind out unarmed and bounty hunter and novice pistoleer). So I figured maybe the missions were just too tough for me so I left the group and went to a PC city and took some regular missions. They were 10k credit pilet plenker missions. As soon as I started fighting them I realized my action pool was again getting raped. So I looked at my armor setup and realized I had total shit for pants and boots. So I went to a vendor and saw they had fairly reasonable prices on that type of armor. I didnt have much money, but I ended up getting much better armor.

So, I went out and did 2 of these missions. It was very boring because like 7 or 8 spawn from their lair. The second time I was fighting them, my vasarian brandy ran out and I was all of the sudden left with very little mind to work with. So I ran into a building to wait until I regenerated my health. Little did I know (I didnt know enemies did this), the fuckers started attacking my landspeeder. I didnt realize it until I got the message, "Your Landspeeder has been disabled!". So then I ran out and killed them out of anger, did the mission, and looked in vain for some vehicle shop.

I found one near the Mining Outpost so I bought a ticket there, and spend 15,000 of my last 24,000 credits on a landspeeder (I wanted a swoop, but I was like 500 credits short).

So then I figured, now that I am all armored up I can probably go and handle those solo group missions. So I joined a solo group, went to the Janta Hut on like a 17,000 credit mission, so not even the close to the top difficulty. Then I realized these guys were now raping my mind and health pools. I crumpled like a cheap suit, got mind-killed, and then deathblown.

So, all in all, we're talking about: 12k for buffs + 26k for armor + 15k for swoop = 53k I spent today, and I made 20k in missions. I still had an hour and a half (!) left on my buffs when I was killed, so thats like... 5,000 credits wasted.

So here's the situation, loves... I have 9,000 credits on Dantooine with shit armor for health. Roufuss has seen the bracer/bicep armor I have now, its total garbage. But I cant afford to replace it now. I also cant go and do missions on Dantooine, because I cant afford buffs.

So if anyone can spot me some cash to get some decent armor and some buffs, like maybe 60-100k, that'd be awesome. I just need to get back on my feet. Last time this happened to me I simply grinded out like 50 of those stupid newbie Mos Eisley missions, and I could do that again, but us Intrepid people are a family, right? Right?

Is that with the settings at a minimum? The only times I had that bad a frame rate, was at the cantina in Coronet, or when someone used a grenade launcher. I've upgraded my video card, so that's not a problem anymore.

I'll put it this way, my PC is:

    Athlon 800
    256 Megs PC100RAM
    8500 AIW

I've written it off, closed the book, sold the book and then forgotten that I ever tried to read the book, until I build a new PC.

  10. Yeah, it's the 1999 Pity PC.

I expect to build a new one within 2 months, at which time I'll probably start playing SWG.
