Sonic I Finally got a SEGA CD

I've always wanted this system but could never justify the high price tag. I saw one availible and took the plunge, a Model 2 top loader with Genny and even greater a Suitcase that I can carry it in! I tried finding some info on this case but I came up empty. It is a thing of beauty it holds the system, two controllers, all hookups with a nifty snap lock and handle. There is foam padding on the inside and it is well designed. I paid about $40 and I can't wait to try the games I bought earlier in the hopes that I would find the system. I have Dark Wizard, The Space Adventure, Rise of the Dragon, Revenge of the Ninja, and a loose cheap Time Gal. The real crown jewel is an Heart of the Alien Sealed copy that I paid $5 for, I'm not sure if I will play it or someday sell it. Does anyone know a good price on a Mega Converter, or the cart that plays CD Imports? Both are availibe to me but the prices seemed a tad high. I would also like to play some of the Mega CD games that neve made it over here, looks like I'll be heading over to the West Exit and picking some up. Just for fun since I have a Genny I bought Buster's Hidden Treasure, Rolling Thunder 2, and Mutant Leauge Football, all complete and cheap. I dunno if I'll upgrade to the 32X as I only have Tempo and didn't realize what a task it would be to hook it up.

  2. Get Sonic CD ASAP or a kitten dies. Also, congrats on the acquisition of a system that is fun on multiple levels.

  3. Sonic CD is so meh.

    GO.
    FIND.
    GROUND.
    ZERO.
    TEXAS.

Even if the game sucks, it's one of the best examples of FMV gaming. And by best, I mean hilarious. If I ever owned a Sega CD I could live off that and Sewer Shark forever.

PS: I love Sewer Shark =X
    Play Guitar Hero //

  4. Sega CD had the best version of Mickey Mania. That game was awesome.

eh, I would look into finding the lunar series games if you like rpgs, and popful mail if you like platformers. Both where benchmark titles for each genra when they where released.

Also the sega cd will play strait copies of sega cd games so if you have a friend with a sega cd you can use copies of his games. I only say this because the best sega cd games are going to be hard to find.

Now would anyone make me a copy of popful mail? I can't find mine.

  6. You need to play Shining Force CD, it's so addictive.

  7. Dont laugh people but Wonder Dog outside of the crap ass cut scenes was a fantastic game!!

  8. Sonic CD is so meh.
I believe this news. Nobody has been able to tell me why this stupid game, which is exactly like all the other Sonic games except for a middling time-traveling gimmick, is so great. I played it and I was like, "wow, the same damn thing, yet again!".

And dont tell me the music. I dont play videogames for great music.

  9. Sonic CD
    Eternal Champions CD
NHL 94 CD (because it has the best sound effects ingame!)
    Blastcorps
    Soul Star
    Lunar 1 & 2
    Popful Mail
Vay (basically anything WD did is pretty good, although Vay is combat intensive)
    Snatcher
Dark Wizard <- probably my favorite Sega CD game
Heart of the Alien (sequel to Out of This World, I believe OoTW is in the CD as well)
Panic! <- not really a game but it is fun for some odd reason
    Robo Aleste

I have never played Samurai Shodown/Fatal Fury Special on the Sega CD, so I am not sure how they were translated.

As far as 32x goes, it actually is pretty easy to hook up, but it varies depending on your model of Genesis. I am selling off my 32x system complete so it will have all the instruction+cable!
