And, Amanda Waller calling out Batman like that? I have a feeling Batman's going to make her regret that. Like you said Gym, he was surprised and thats an emotion we dont see too often in Bats. That's probably why it was cool to see. How often does someone get a chance to call out the Batman, let alone some random fat, government suit?
I didnt really get a Static Shock impression from him, but thats only because I remembered Black Vulcan going in to this one so he just matched up with him. I did like the techno-ish electric sound of his voice though. And I did feel like I missed something when after Batman knocked him out he stood over him and said like" Jolly Good show mate" or some shit. Did BV have some line where he would say that in the old Super Friends?Originally Posted by Searchman X
Another thing that caught a chuckle out of me was when Bizarro first showed himself in the prison break , I swear he sounded just like George of the Jungle or something. " Da-Ta -Da"

.
I thought that was funny in a good way. The whole "not them again." I could understand why you wouldn't like that we were privy to this seemingly popular group's existence earlier, but it was handled in good humor in my opinion.Originally Posted by SearchManX
In the comics, Waller is http://www.blacksuperhero.com/exhibi...c-awaller.html but she's new to the show.
The next episode points in this direction as well.I would like to see a full-on US government forces versus the Justice League.
The line ended, "...old chum." In Superfriends Batman called Robin "old chum" didn't he? So that's what that was a reference to. Plus this version's Batman was making fun of Wind Dragon's terminology earlier in the episode.Originally Posted by Jetman
I had some problems with this episode, as mentioned earlier. Why was Batman around and why didn't Juice just, er, juice the floor to take him out? Why did Downpour attack Aquaman of all people? Aquaman was also much more chummy with the League than he has been in the past.
Superman being upset at the corny speech, Wonder Woman's fondness of Longshadow.. these things really lacked a subtleness that would have helped grounded the episode. The pacing just seemed too quick. I felt, for example, there wasn't enough time to care about the Ultimen and instead sort of snickered when Shifter turned to her brother in tears. Not the right emotion at all.
I feel this way about every Unlimited episode.Originally Posted by MonsterMash
For some reason, the writers just haven't figured out how to write a decent 30 minute episode. Either they try to jam too much into 30 minutes (The Amazo episode, apparently this one as you described it, there were others who's names aren't coming to me), or it just feels too rushed.
One of the really good Unlimited episodes was the Mongul one, and Kids Story. They had decent pacing, had some good interaction and character growth throughout the plot, and some awesome action mixed in with it. I felt sastisfied with those, and that's something I don't feel when they give us 22 minutes to meet new characters, see them do something, and we barely see them again.
If anyone watches Teen Titans, and Season 3 in particular, I feel they've really nailed the 30 minute team dramatic. In most of the Season 3 episodes (namely the two involving Terra, the one where Robin hallucinates and see Slade, the episode where Aqualad comes back) they really convey everything and make the viewer feel sastisfied.
Good action, good character growth, good interaction between the characters, reoccuring characters who still grow as their own character and don't steal the spotlight.
Also, in most of the Season 3 episodes, they are weaving things into a huge plotline to tie up at the end, very much like they dude with Season 2. JLU's episodes feel more like one shots, and don't really "flow" together at all.
I guess after really liking Justice League, season 2 in particular, JLU seems very meh to me, for the reasons I listed above.
Yea, I really can't think of why this would be such a huge problem. Batman Beyond characters showed up in Justice League, so it's not like people would start getting confused or something.Originally Posted by Jetman

That show's writers, and whoever is in charge, has made it clear on many occasions that the Teen Titans are in their own little universe, and stand on their own two feet.
Namely, that they want to show they are a good enough team on their own, and just aren't the younger sidekicks of the Justice League. This is why all the guest appearances on the show are by the younger superhero's, and not from any you'd see on Justice League.
Also, they've never said who Robin is, and they've never shown him out of his mask. He also never ever brings up any sort of references to Batman. Basacially, the Teen Titans are completely seperate from any of the shows airing right now.
I'm also guessing this is why Superboy never showed up, since they are possibly going to be using him in JLU, as someone pointed out earlier.

Oh Yeah, I know, man. I'd seen pictures of this versions Wonder Twins on another site and they just both looked female. That's just kind of what I was expecting I guess. In other words,as compared to the original brother/sister I thought this one was sister/sister.Originally Posted by MonsterMash

Yeah, the Ultimen werent acting with a full-deck after they'd seen their clones. Batman even said that they werent making any sense with talk of destoying the League to be remembered or something.Originally Posted by MonsterMash

I didnt really feel like it was to rushed. I honestly dont know if I could've taken a full hour of characterization for the Ulti-Losers but, eh.Originally Posted by MonsterMash
Aquaman was never a rebel... he just had no use for the outside world whatsoever, had no use for the League, and needed to focus all his attention on Atlantis.Originally Posted by Jetman
Green Arrow, on the other hand, just felt the league was too good for him, and felt he was better off fighting common criminals rather than super villains.
There are parallel's, but both are different. And yea, it was sad to see Aquaman suddenly all friendly.

Dark Heart was pretty good. The opening was very X-Files like, with the goverment conspiracies and the creepy beginning it seems like the writers were influenced by Chris Carter...
Anyway the action was great, lots of characters (although I didn't know who 80% of them were).
The Atom (that's his name right?) got a nice ride with Wonder Woman.
Also Batman's remark "I can't fly.... at all" was pretty funny.![]()

Electro-dreads asked Batman, "Wait, where's Robin?" Batman replied, "Oh, he's with the Titans." Shockingly-subpar retorted, "The who?" Then, Batman smiled, suggestively, "Oh, you'll find out soon enough." That, and Larry's real name is "Nosyarg Kcid".
But, yeah, no references to Batman besides the whole future Nightwing thing. This has always made me sad.
Despite that, I've always found Teen Titans to be a shit of a lot more entertaining than JLU. Both lack significant Batman-age, but TT has teh funnies.
Yeah, I liked this one too. I recognized most of the characters. A shitload were JSU guys. There was one that had a six-shooter and and old ass-motorcycle that made me laugh - have no fucking clue who he was.Him and a mexican house maid looking lady towards the end got a nice "wtf" out of me.Originally Posted by SearchManX

One thing I've been wondering about, is where the hell is Flash? He would've been a prime candidate to rush off and grab Atom since he has teh speed and all. I hope its explained at some point where he's been this whole time.
"Wake the Dead" airs today at 5pm. It's a repeat but since no one has talked about it I figured I'd mention it. It features the return of Hawkgirl and Grundy, and the speaking introduction of Vixen.
Because Cartoon Network was slow in airing the finale it was completed in time, unlike what I mentioned earlier. So,
Part one of the season finale airs next week Jan 22. The JL travels to the past.
Part two of the season finale airs Jan 29. The League travels to the future.
Season two apparantly begins on February 5th. Season two should be the same length as season one. The season two finale is a four parter.
About time CN started up with these again.Originally Posted by MonsterMash

I'm not too sure about the story though with Grundy becoming invincible due to some random geeks dicking around with some random magic book. And having what they cast make Grundy powerful enough to have Amazo turn tail and run?![]()
, yet Hawkgirl can kill him with a blow from her super-mallet? So by that reasoning Hawkgirl or any Thanagarian can kill omnipotent Amazo?
Anyway, good action though. Would be interesting to see a jealous love-traingle thing going with Vixen,John, and, Kiera but I doubt we'll ever see it.
