Thread: Justice League Unlimited

  1. "Divided We Fall" - http://torrentspy.com/search.asp?mod...ue%20Unlimited

Get It. Now. You wont believe who saves the day in this one, and totally owns the god-like villian in the process.

  2. "I got a seat at the big conference table, I'M GONNA PAINT MY LOGO ON IT!
That was the best line ever.

I wasn't satisfied with that ending, not the stuff with the flash, that stuff was cool, I didn't like that scene with superman giving the speech, all that stuff felt really cheesy to me and it all felt anticlimatic after such an awesome season.

Really? I thought it was wrapped up nicely. His reasoning and speech kind of made sense after what happened. He wasnt sure if the people still trusted him, so he pretty much left the future of the League up to them.

The only thing that kind of annoyed me about this ep. was Flash reverting back to his "normal" self or whatever. I wanted to either see him return fully tapped into the speedforce and changed (new costume/new look something) - not just "Oh,Hi, I cant do that again,or I wont come back." .What? You just kicked ass. Why wouldnt you want to do that again?

That and how "easily", Braniac was seperated from Luthor. Werent they "one"? But he was ripped off of him like armor. And with the Darkheart tech, you'd have thought they would have been nigh impossible to beat. Ah, well,it had to be finished one way or another.

Oh,and for some reason, I thought Clark was going to tell Lois who he was at the end.We know he tells her eventually. Why not then?

That episode just reinforced my liking of Flash.

And what's up with Epilogue? I downloaded the episode but what the hell does it have to do with anything Justice League?

Not a whole lot. It was written assuming it would be the last DCAU show ever... and as such to act as a swan song to all the past shows. The last moment is a tribute to the very first moment of the very first episode of the show that started it all. Check out Batman:TAS' On Leather Wings if you don't remember it.

The animated universe started with Bats and, with Epilogue, it ends with him too.

    Divided We Fall
When most of the Justice League is incapacitated, who will be left to stand against the League deadliest enemies?

    Epilogue
50 years in the future, the history of the Justice League is the key to Batman’s darkest secret –and his final destiny.

  6. Hunter's Moon
This was an OK but unnecessary sequel to JL's Starcrossed. It had really nothing to do with this season's arc. I would have been fine with Hawkgirl staying out of the League but since she's back in and since she doesn't play much of a role later I guess the felt there was a need to focus on her with this ep. There wasn't.

Fans of Firefly: "Captain Mal" played Vigilante while, uh, "The Black Chick" played Vixen. A cute casting considering the sci-fi slant of this ep.

    Question Authority
Like I said way back when, this episode was "interesting." I was thrown then by Lex's sudden strength and even though it's all been explained by now it was the start of a path I didn’t' really feel the show should have taken. Sure, it led to an awesome action packed last (non-Epilogue) episode but the whole thing was just too... comic booky for me, stupid as that complaint sounds for a show based on comic books.

I still love The Question, I loved his references to conspiracies and objectivism, all the character are still interesting, etc. As the main villain, though, this new Lex was too me a bore.

    Flashpoint
This was my second favorite of the four part finale. Every fight Superman has been in lately has ruled and the Captain Atom one was no exception to the rule. There was a lot of talky bits between the Leaguers too about the nature of power that was all pretty riveting. Then of course was the killer scene when Lex takes control of the canon (THIS was the Lex I liked, smarts and subversiveness - not brute power.)

My only complaint was that I honestly wish the blast had taken some lives... if the writing staff wasn't allowed to talk about a death count then at least hint at it. The massive devastation is really undercut by the unreasonable "only minor injuries." But I think that phrase wasn't used until the next episode so I didn't even have this complaint until that one aired.

    Panic in the Sky
First of all, the recap at the start of this episode and the music that accompanied it RULED. Some of the best scoring on JLU.

The stuff with the original seven was cool, especially Batman's unwillingness to go along with their plan.

The Ultimen fight was neat too, but honestly why didn't they just shoot MISSLE missiles at the watchtower. For a comic book fan I find a lot of things too comic booky and that was one of them. Those saw missiles were just silly.

And, yeah, Lex is Brianiac. Bleh.

  7. I just finished watching Epilouge, and wow, that shit was so fucking good. Talk about fan service! I loved every minute of it. Finally, a true end to BB, and a satisfying one at that. I always hated how abruptedly it originally ended, but this episode made up for it big time. Wow, that was so fucking great.

  8. DIvided we fall was awesome. I really hope DC continues to strongly support thier animation division.

Oh, and for Marvel to start making some freaking shows now.Sheesh.

Phantasm, and we've been spoiler tagging things that haven't aired yet.

  11. Are they going to do another season of this show?

So it turns out BS&P made the creative team put this line in. In the past they've gotten away with mass devastation by presenting it so that the viewer can assume people were killed so long as no one says people were killed. But apparently the destruction was so great in this one the CN higher ups felt it needed to be said that no one was seriously hurt. Sucks.

  13. what was the point of epilogue? They only talked about Batman, and the other JL members got cameo appearances at best.

If I didn't know better I would have sworn it was the ending to Batman Beyond.

    It was.

It was the proper ending to batman beyond, and it served as a great book end to DC animated universe.

Seriously, that episode was phenominal, and I could care less that none of the shitty JL characters showed up in it (except for one, but she kept her mouth shut for once). Because lets face it, every one in the Justice League, and I do mean every last one of them, really fucking sucks compared to Batman, and even his future counter part. I don't really mind the open ended ending to Divided We Fall, because it is already established in Batman Beyond that the League still exists in the future, there is no need to worry about them because we already know that there will be plenty of other adventures ahead for them. To me, the Terry McGuiness character deserved a better ending than what was originally presented, and Epilouge did just that.

  16. Man I wish I'd been paying attention to this thread more, i had no idea you were posting links to torrents. Now none of em work.

Well now people will just think I'm talking about the game system, or that dude in purple from the future, so no one will care =D

If I thought the purple dude from the future was going to make an appearance I'd be dissapointed to find out it was really Phantasm.

  20. There is one thing in epilouge that was sorely over looked: Bruce's second "son" so to speak, Terry's younger brother, I wonder what happened to him.

    I donno...its fairly close...

  24. I totally B that N. Terry rocks.

  25. Heh, I haven't seen any new JLU epsidoes ever since the episode with returning Golden Amazo but Roufuss filled me in on the Batman Beyond stuff and it sounded kind of cool.

It seems Metal Gear Solid'ish almost (sons of Big Boss). Did all the voice actors from the BB series reprise their roles like Will Friedel and such?

Anyway I hate not having cartoon network.....it blows.

  26. #296
Flash is funny and powerful. Tap that speedforce, motherfucker!

Seriously, though, I do like Batman but he's not the end-all of the DC universe.

  27. #297
I like the Flash a lot. Wally's a lot more powerful than even he knows he is. Did anyone ever read the Return of Barry Allen? That is one fucking great story.

    Torrent link for it please.

Take advantage of the Bit Torrent links in this thread, this episode demands to be seen. And yeah, all the original people return to do the voices.

As for the Flash, my favorite Flash moment was in Star Crossed when he doesn't want to reveal his secret identity to the crew and Batman in his typical harsh manner sets him straight.

  30. Wow. What a shit hot episode.

I know the title of the episode was "Epilogue" and all, but maybe this can be seen as a new beginning for the Batman Beyond character in the DCU.The "On Leather Wings" reference could possibly mean that Timm wants to rejuvenate the series from the start, right? :crosses fingers:

We need some new episodes of Batman Beyond.Now. STAT.

Very good question. He'd make a good Robin, methinks.

Another question that always nagged me in Batman Beyond was what the hell happened to Bruce's first prodigal son, Dick Grayson, aka Robin # 1, aka Nightwing? Timm pretty much revealed what happened to all of the main characters in TAS except this one....
