I *haven't*, but did you play Armada for the DC? I personally didn't like the controls but I thought I'd throw that out there if you like Asteroids and want a variation of gameplay.
I saw this posted over at shmups. TZD will be selling it for $30. This is their description:
Meteor Blaster DX is the latest PCEngine SCD release from MindRec. Gameplay starts off similar to the old Asteroids arcade game. You start off with a small number of meteors that need to be destroyed, and as you get further in the game, that number (and their speed) increases. You can select from one of 4 different ships for the game. Each ship has its own benefits and drawbacks. There are also powerups that will allow you to enhance your ship's performance while in the game.
Meteor Blaster DX features in-game cinemas (including parallax effects in the opening cinema and title screens).
Also included on the CD are 2 bonus games: Loop and Implode Caravan Version.![]()
It says it's a bit like Asteroids, which I love. Anyone play a demo or anything?

It's been so long since I dusted off my TurboDuo. Will this work with the stock Duo or do I need some kind of arcade card?
If it's as good as Implode I'll be all over it, um take this comment any way you want.
SuperCDs work with the stock Duo.Originally Posted by Nigel
Cool thanks.
There is a demo version out playable on emulators that doesn't include all the music that will be on the final version. It kept me occupied for a while.![]()
