SO2 easily, a fun combat system and a deep item creation system.Originally Posted by Korian
I have Star Ocean 2 new, BOF 3 + 4 both Sealed bought when they came out and I don't recall if Saga is in my collection but all 4 games seemed to have a unique combat system and some cool looking locales. The stories for all were sub-par from what I read, anyone recommend a play-thru, I dunno how well they have aged?, and I have lost interest in RPGs lately so unless there's something special I"ll probally trade them in, get rid of them or what not.

Creating Items? Hmm doesn't sound too fun I got sick of that crap mixing herbs to make more useless items in Secret of Evermore.Originally Posted by Damian79
Not the same. Nowhere near. I did like SoE somewhat though even though it got boring fast.Originally Posted by Korian
But try the game atleast, It was my favourite RPG of last gen.
BOF4 is definitely playable.
I did not like Star Ocean 2. I couldn't endure the excessive dialogue and characters. Maybe the game gets better but after a few hours I didn't want to spend anymore time to find out.
Breath of Fire 4 is pretty cool. It doesn't break much new ground but the animation is really nice and the gameplay is good.
Saga Frontier didn't seem too appealing from what I played.

Sure the voice acting is ass, but Star Ocean 2 is great. The combat system and item creation is a blast, plus having 80+ endings or whatever doesn't hurt either. I'm not a fan of RPGs but I loved SO2.
Star Ocean 2 had decent voice acting... but the actual sound quality was so crappy. The game itself was awsome and I loved it enough to play twice.
I haven't Tried BoF4 yet.
Saga Frontier... I think is a fun game, but to me it shines the most in story, and perhaps that's the only place it truly shines.
Saga Frontier wasn't even worth playing when it came out.
