Yeah for real, I wanted to use the anti gravity gun but it was too tuff to hurl objects around inside buildings and too slow for most of the monsters.

looks like he was referring to the stuttering problem. the shorter load times will come later.

Regular zombies weren't bad. If you see 'em coming you usually have more than enough time and they are pretty easy to run around. Plus with the saw blades you can take out packs of em in one shot.

And I'm stuck again. That last room was really easy to get through, I just didn't look at the room before to figure out the path. But now I'm trapped in a building with Striders (amazing enemies really) on the outside (In Follow Freeman). You come through a tunnel and a Strider appears behind you so you run down the tunnel and come to a bombed out building. Looks like there are 3 levels. If you stay inside those camera things come by and then the Striders know where you are. There's some supply crates here and there but for the first time I don't know where to go. If you jump out the bottom window and go left, you go into a tunnel that's been caved in (dead end) and if you go left into the tunnel it's the way I came into the section. I must be overlooking something because I can't find where to go next (I have no rockets, can't drop the Strider).

Edit: One thing I really like is how the game isn't a resource pig. I can alt tab out of it and my computer still loads everything else quickly.

Yeah but later in the level you have those building climbing freaks and the brutes that hurl spiders at you.

What's the rest of your system like?
aside from the aforementioned 9800 pro:

    2.4 ghz P4
    1 gig of DDR RAM
on-board sound (no noticeable skipping problems)

    and a freshly reformatted hdd.

I'll try running it without any other programs going, and i'll also check out my video settings to see if i can make sense of anything.

Yeah those things suck. First time I saw one I didn't know what the hell it was. Best is to spot them early and take 'em out with the crossbow (one of my favorite weapons).

Have you update your drivers? Makes a big difference.

  7. Rumpy: Climb to the top of the building. It's 3 or 4 stories. You can move on from up there.

I'll give it a try. The highest floor I've been on is really dangerous. It's like level with the striders head and it just has to look and and sneeze to kill me. Chance I missed something there because I'm running for my life the whole time.

Shit, forgot you get the crossbow after Raven. I did that a few days ago. I've seen so much since then it blurs together with screaming zombies and bombs exploding all over the place.
