It would have 5 months ago when nothing else good was avaliable. But there's a shit load of good games out these past two months.

after fooling around with the new cs source maps for a bit (sorry dave, the friends network is having trouble,) it's obvious where most of valve's time went. cs_office is so much better than the other maps, it's sick. beautiful, beautiful textures, with some amazing prop additions. if this is any indication of hl2, it'll be fun just shooting the random debris. here's some screens to give an idea of the interactivity:

that's an odd criteria for buying games. judging from your own posts, though, you don't even follow it yourself. i mean, warcraft 3? swg? great games, but hardly twice as good as their nearest competition. teh hate has overridden teh logic

No, whoever the fuck was arguing with me said that "if you want the bar to be raised, then you have to wait". With the way HL2 and TF2 and all that have been delayed, the game better raise the bar really fucking high, higher than it possibly could. Valve just has completely destroyed my anticipation for this game, shit all over me, and acted like a bunch of douchebags. They dont deserve my money. Blizzard may delay their games a zillion times, but at least theyre real about it.

PC Gamer is so biased however.

I mean, of course it's going to get a 98%, because the PC market is so dry right now (compared to the console market) that this is a shining light in a sea of nothing. Plus this is one of the only things to look forward to in the PC market, that of course PC magazines are going to blow their load over it.

I'm more interrested in what mags that review BOTH consoles and pc games give it, because if I remember correctly, they were the ones to accurately rate Doom 3 with 8's and the like.

I mean, mags like EGM or Game Informer may look forward to Half-Life 2, but they also have tons of other great games to look forward to, while mags like PC Gamer just have Half Life-2.

I have made up my mind damnit, I want HL2 (read: CS, DOD: Source) badly.. but I refuse to buy software without well the physical dvd and case.
