$180's a bit much, but if it launches with the games that have me hyped for it, then I'll snatch it up. November...wow, so soon, yet so far away.

Yeah, $150 would be a perfect price for it. I can't help but shake this Saturn launch vibe I'm getting from it though. I REALLY hope I'm wrong about that.

$150 would still be too expensive. :/
... And I still don't see any good reason to buy a DS, no matter what price they put it at. God dammit, Nintendo. :S
I really don't believe this news, though. There's no way, after the meager handful of demos shown at E3, that this thing is ready to launch so soon. I can't fathom a respectable number of titles will be finished and completely localized by this time. Not to mention the total abscence of marketing and preorder info this close to it's rumored launch. I could maybe see that 'surprise' approach for a game, but not for a system.
Not good, I'm afraid.Originally Posted by Mzo
At $180, DS may as well mean "Dollar Syphon". This amount is one bullet I will not bite. I think Nintendo may be restricting the initial launch partially to be able to charge more for it.
That said, $250+ for PSP is even worse, reeking of the N-Gage launch. If they don't get the price down in a reasonable time, I think it'll be another niche system- even with Sony's illustrious name on it. 3DO Pocket? This is the closest thing launchpricewise.
I love how the 3DO flew off the shelves with a $700 price tag.![]()
Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
Good answer. That's what I'll be doing. The DS starting lineup doesn't really make me want to throw down almost two Franklins.Originally Posted by Hero

Maybe it'll hit a faster price drop than the N-Gage did.
