Title: Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword (temporary)
    Console: PS2
Genre: "Strange worldwide summons simulation" (strategy RPG?)
    Release date: This winter
    Price: Undecided
    Company: Xuse/Nippon Ichi Software

  2. Any new RPG is welcome so this'll be a nice addition to the PS2's RPG archive.

  3. And it's by Nippon Ichi, so I'm expecting good things to happen.
    All is well.

  4. Damned deceptive title made me think this was Tales related (Aselia is the planet Tales of Phantasia is set on... and the Eternal Sword thing is referenced too)

  5. Since Disgaea, they've just been cranking them out, eh?

I was thinking the same thing.

    That's too coincidental... Really.

    Still, I"m not complaining.

  7. The actual title (sans the extra tag "the spirit of eternity sword) is "eien no aseria" which translates to Eternal Aseria. What's the deal with so many Japanese RPG games using "eternal" in their names (Eternal Arcadia, Atelier~Eternal Mana, etc.)? But whatever, it doesn't matter so much what it's called, as long as it's a good game!

Also, perhaps this is a bit nitpicky but I wouldn't translate the genre as "strange worldwide summons simulation". A more accurate translation would be "different(or 'opposite') world summons simulation".

  8. Nippon Ichi is just porting a pre-existing PC game. Looks fun, but I'm not expecting something on the level of Phantom Brave.

  9. May as well go preorder it. Nippon1 pwns my wallet.
