And the medal ass whipping has begun: USA 29, China 22. There are some other countries that don't matter that have a few too.
Yeah, the mens relay was awesome. Track and Field events started today.

For the few moments I've watched the only interesting thing was how fucking gay the announcer was during gymnastics. The guy reeeeealy loved gymnastics, and was very open with his criticisms.
nbc.com is your best bet. They have 3 or so of their channels (bravo and msnbc I think) showing stuff starting around noon. They should have a listing of all the events, results and times/channels for what they are showing.Originally Posted by Opaque

Hoogenband comes back big down the stretch to out-touch the RSA guy for back-to-back 100 gold. Awesome.
Plus Thorpe w/the bronze! Say what you will about Phelps but Thorpe and Hoogenband are making great cases for themselves as the greatest freestylers ever.

China is still comming first though, since it has 1 more gold. Not that "that" will matter in 8 or so days...Originally Posted by Yoshi
Ukraine has 5 Gold, that's awesome!
And Australia still punches WAY above our weight, so suck it!

Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim.
we should divide medal total by population size to determine the winner.
And as for the swimming relay, we had a star swimmer swim with unhealed injuries, so if he was in good nick, BAM!

The problem w/dividing medal totals according to population size?
Big countries, countries that would benefit from depth, aren't allowed to benefit from that depth. Why? B/c countries can't enter more than 2 participants per event.
If the US could send as many athletes as could meet the time standard...well...
Also, every gold won by a guy from Trinidad counts way more (using the population scale) than a gold won by a guy from Russia/China/US.
Oh, and how many top athletes train here?
The fairest thing to do is just count medals.
