Well to be fair, we have lost both the last Olympics and the last World Championships. Until we cobble together a decent team that actually shows off USA basketball, I think people are justified in thinking this.I'm not blaming Argentina. I'm just saying that a) people who think international BB has bridged the gap all the way are really ignorant if they look at the Olypics as evidence
It should just be judged by citizenship. Like, thats how it always has been and that is fair to me. The USA will always come out the loser with this setup because so many world-class athletes train here, or play here (like Yao Ming), but I think its fair.and b) if you live in and train in a country, you should compete for that country. There's an obvious reason why they are in that particular country.
The first part I can understand. I get to see it firsthand, so I know that it isn't indicative of the reality. I suppose other people don't know that it's not the way it was in the Olympics.
The second part is iffy. For the most part, they benefit from the US more than the US benefits from them (Ming is an exception as he globablizes the league like no other and gets more money and better competition over here). I really don't care either way.

Well, like it or not, but the excuses are all valid.
Not a single one of you excuses is valid.
Suck it up, take the loss, learn from it and make some changes. Maybe then the US Basketball team will fair well.
If your country didn't get 103 medals, then STFU.
Its over? Damn those were the shittiest olympics ever. I only got to see an hour of track and field stuff and missed out on the javelin throwing and pole vaulting (the cooler shit in my opinion), EVERYTIME I turned to the Olympics it was f**king indoor volleyball!!! Argh! NBC's coverage this year sucked the donkeys nuts.

The worst part of the coverage was that it was always 2 min of sports, and 5 min of ads.
Umm, NBC wasnt the only station running Olympic coverage. It was on Telemundo, on Bravo, on MSNBC, on CNBC, etc. Actually the coverage was pretty spectacular (and far better than Sydney or Atlanta), as all those stations covered the smaller sports, like Taekwondo or Archery, and they frequently focused on competition that didnt feature Americans.Originally Posted by station82o
Dont be mad at NBC just because you dont know how to use a remote or a TV Guide.

It seems like people from shitty countries that won 12 medals dont care, but thats about it.
