That is absolutely the first time I've ever read or heard anything like that happening in the nearly three years this game has been out.

Still don't change my point, though.

I can play Halo now and have a totally different experience that the last. Something I can't say for Metroid Prime.

I know, I was kinda surprised when it happened because I hadn't heard of any glitches either. It was just that one checkpoint, I must've been switching weapons or something when it saved and screwed it up. Everytime it loaded I had a plasma rifle that shot bullets but when I pressed the button to switch weapons only the ammo indicator changed and then everything was fine again.

  4. People "in touch with gaming" are supposed to feel a future game.
Halo 2 feels me. It's quite nice.

Anyway, at my local EB, Halo 2 has about 400 preorders. Metroid Prime 2 has about 3. Tell me where the buzz is.

OU! OUU! RIGHT HERE! i KNOW!

  6. by the way how much did MP sell in the US? ~500k?

  7. My point was that the Metroid Prime's single-player experience will fare better than Halo's multiplayer one. I think there will be tons of games in the years to come that will out-Halo Halo, and I think what Prime brings to the table is harder to carbon copy.
See, thats an okay point, but the thing you are neglecting is that the Halo experience is what will be remembered more than the actual game. Like, really, if you think about it, there's nothing too special about the gameplay, and yes the formula will be done better in the future. But really the game came along and got tons of people to get together with their friends, have awesome matches - that is what will be remembered. For example you will remember getting awesome kills with the pistol against your friend, or winning 15-14 or shit like that, not how well balanced it is or whatever.

People will remember the games and remember the awesome matches they had, the brilliant strategies that they pulled out of nowhere to win, etc. Like my favorite memory of Quake 3 is not exactly the game itself, because it was nothing special, but the time I got online with my friend the Quake "expert" and beat him 45-14. It fucking rocked! And that match certainly took less time than it does to play Metroid Prime.

This sort of fluidity and dynamic is what makes multiplayer games so fucking awesome, and people who dont play a lot of multiplayer games really are missing out.

  9. While I was at my EB today pre-ordering Metroid Prime 2 I asked the associate approximately how many pre-orders Halo 2 had compared to Metroid. He estimated Halo 2 to have about 200 pre-orders, while Metroid had about 25.

Also, according to his knowledge, there hasn't been this many pre-orders for a game since Mortal Kombat II for the Genesis at this particular store. (600+ pre-orders) Halo 2 beating GTA and Madden kind of suprised me.

I'm still excited for both games, but Metroid more than ever.

  10. Metroid Prime 2 FOREVER!!!
