I saw the first six episodes lately and I'm really liking this show. It reminds me a lot of Chobits, but original with a lot of mature/comedic themes. Definately check this anime out!

One year before, a spaceship carrying aliens drifted in Tokyo Bay. Because they hadn’t been able to go home, they had received Japanese citizenships. They had been called “DearS” meaning “dear friends”

In order to study Japanese language and customs, home stay system of DearS had been established. One day, a high school student Ikuhara Takeya met a DearS girl who had on only a blanket. She fell in on the street because of hunger. He had no choice but to bring her into his apartment. Then he named her Ren.
