This list sucks. How can you dish out 2004 awards months before the year's end?
M83 came out last year, I don't think it would be in the running just for the domestic release.

I didn't get the import until 3 or 4 months ago, but I still think it is the best album I've bought this year.

  2. Here is the finalist for the shortlist

    # Air: Talkie Walkie (Astralwerks)
    # Dizzee Rascal: Boy in Da Corner (Matador/XL)
    # Franz Ferdinand: Franz Ferdinand (Domino/Epic)
    # Ghostface: The Pretty Toney Album (Def Jam)
    # The Killers: Hot Fuss (Island)
    # Loretta Lynn: Van Lear Rose (Interscope)
    # Nellie McKay: Get Away from Me (Columbia)
    # The Streets: A Grand Don't Come for Free (Vice)
    # TV on the Radio: Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes (Touch & Go)
    # Wilco: A Ghost Is Born (Nonesuch)

Bands that got robbed include AC Newman, Fiery Furnaces, Iron & Wine, The Weakerthans, Devendra Banhart and Wrens. My money is on Franz Ferdinand to win this thing, but underdog vote goes to TV on the Radio.
    your mom

  3. I was going for oceansize.

  4. I am genuinely suprised that The Fiery Furnaces didn't make it. But other than that, nothing too suprising in that list.

  5. My vote goes for Wilco. Their album didnt get anywhere near the critical acclaim of YHF, but its a lot better and I guess only smart people see that.

  6. You guys need to take a listen to Van Hunt. Good stuff.

  7. TV on the Radio won. Sweet.

  8. Yeah, I gotta say they deserved it.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

Apparently Q and not U have been the house band on some MTV show this week. Not playing their songs, but being there.
