Wow...great thread let me get started by introducing myself.

My name is...well call me genki. i grew up in the bronx i think this gangsta shit your talking about isn't about black people i grew up poor in a bad neighborhood i dont act like that. Not to toot my own horn or anything but if someone was to make me angry enough i would have no problem shooting them i've done it before and i'll do it again if i need to. but i know how hard it is to live somewhere like that i dont know why anyone would like to live there i've been through alot of shit in my life but i dont use that as an excuse i know i did alot of wrong stuff and i'm sorry for them and if i had the chance i would take them all back. the whole act black thing isn't about being black or white or whatever, its about being ignorant and disrespectful i know alot of killers that would kill someone a second but they have enough respect to know not to curse around children, respect their elders. me myself i'm low key, most of the people i know think i'm the nicest person they know. i'd rather make a friend than an enemy know what i'm saying? i dont know where these kids today get this stuff i wish parents would have more responsibility.

Yea I feel ya. I'm also Dominican grew up in harlem/Washington Heights. So I know how it is. Respect has been lost for the most part and young parents aren't helping. My step sis for example had 2 kids by the time she was 21. Coolest person you'd probably meet but if you were to be invisible and spend a afternoon in her house with her kids you'd think she was possed by Hitler cuz of how bad she would talk to and treat those kids. I see them in the future acting the same way "thugs" do.

no doubt, hispanics are especially bad when it comes to treating children...i like to thing its from all the stress they're under...at the time i didn't think about it, but it must have been hard for my mom having to take care of two extremely bad kids, not knowing anyone in a strange country, and having a husband who beats you...i love my mom for all she's been through for me and my brother i wish i had this mentality when i was younger...thats why i can identify alot with NaS's music.
