Can't and won't are two different things, though. It's my upset pick of the playoffs (well, IND over NE is too, I suppose, but most people would be more surprised with this result). The '99 Vikings should have run through everyone in the NFC, but a relatively mediocre Falcons team came out to play. I'm sure the Steelers will be ready to play, but I honestly think SD will be better prepared for this game, regardless of the weather.
I have a funny feeling San Diego is going to have their hands full with the Jets, despite how mediocre they have been playing. The Jets did beat them at home once this year already, though that seems like 10 years ago. :POriginally Posted by Joust Williams
Yeah. Guess I'll go somewhere and drink myself to sleep.Originally Posted by diffusionx
You mean the Patriots have won two Super Bowls and are 14-2 this year. They would have never been in the first Super Bowl had Drew Bledsoe not beaten Pittsburgh. Brady is Trent Dilfer on a better team, though his arm is weaker. He is simply there to not screw it up. Bill Bellichik is the only star on that team. Brady's job is to manage the game. Granted, he has managed to not blow the game for his defense twice in three years, but the best offensive player the Patriots had until they got Corey Dillon was Adam Vinatieri. Dan Marino was a great quarterback on an average team. Tom Brady is an average quarterback on a good team. There is a world of difference. Defenses, not QBs, win Super Bowls.Originally Posted by diffusionx

THE COLTS WILL NOT WIN THE SUPER BOWL.
All you need to do is look at how badly Manning chokes in the postseason, and look at how terrible Manning is at New England (if the Colts win in the first round, they play in NE no matter what). 2+2=4
You don't win in the playoffs with a rookie quarterback who can't even run the whole offense. Did you notice how Cowher opened the playbook on Sunday because Maddox was starting? The Steelers have an overrated RB in Staley and a rookie QB. A strong defense should hold them under 20 9 times out of 10. The Steelers were good enough to show the weaknesses in Philadelphia and New England. That doesn't make them a juggernaut by any stretch.Originally Posted by salt_peanuts
The Eagles have that chance every year and blow it! They would have won it this year but they lost Terrell Owens. Without him McNabb WILL NOT do it on his own. It's to easy for defensive Coordinators to figure out that team without Owens on it. Without Owens they no longer draw the double coverage and you know I speak the truth. Philly will lose the NFC Championship game once more to Greenbay, or Atlanta.Originally Posted by Klonoa
They won't even be in the Championship game. The team can't stop the run, and Reid's horse shit pass-first offense doesn't work in January, especially with the jackass hurt.Originally Posted by BRAD73

I bet he tore his hamstring in the NO game, and the team has been covering it up ever since. Or maybe it's his back.
In the past 10 years, the Vikings haven't been as bad in cold weather as they are against a blitzing defense or smart coach/quarterback. It's the latter reason why they'll lose against the Packers. I predict 38-27.
I guess you gotta cut the Philly fans some slack, I'm not one of them but I could certaintly understand their situation, 3 consecutive trips to the conference championship and failing thricefold... its more than a fan can bear. I imagine the only thing worse was the Bills going 4 straight to the SuperBowl and coming out 0-4. Man weren't those some fucking boring years for the NFL.
