Diablo 3 should it happen

For those who want an online Diablo, just wait until Guild Wars is released. Anyone who played the open alpha test during E3 this year can attest to it being pretty much like that.

Mmm.... Diablo 3. I want it to happen badly, but it most likely wont. Many of the guys who created the series have left (to make GuildWars or whatever), so I doubt Blizzard will cash in on this. There are still thousands of people who play D2 everyday. Making a sequel would rake in tons of cash. That is, if they keep it free over Bnet. A subscription would probably drive alot of people (including myself) away.

Agreed, you pay enough for the games let alone the subscription fee... But we can only hope. I myself doubt they will make a sequal, but I feel it makes good buisness sense to go ahead with it. I still play D2 frequently on battlnet as I have since D1 was released.. I know the people there would eat up a sequal.

World of Warcraft basically plays just like Diablo. If you want to play a game in the Diablo universe... TS. At least for now.

Guild Wars played nothing like Diablo. It wasn't real-time combat, it was like a D&D system: click attack and then sit back and watch your character fight. It was beautiful but the fighting was disappointing. I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo 3 never came into fruition. Diablo II: LoD is perfect, like Valgar said about Starcraft: BW, and I wouldn't mess with a good thing.

Hmm I agree with what you said man, but then again as good as diablo 2 LoD is, in my eyes one of the most brilliant games of all time, I would love to see a sequal to it. I personally wouldn't even change the interface at all, Imagine how gorgous it would look, without the inclusion of 3d characters.. All our modern processing power would allow for a very convincing environment...

You had your normal attacks, and then you had special attacks that you had to activate with the F-keys....like diablo

Unless you're referring to the fact that you don't have to click on a weasel 20 times to kill it. In which case...good riddance

Diablo 3 is gonna happen. In interviews when he announced he was leaving the company, Bill Roper said that his departure would have no effect on the development of Diablo 3. Also, in interviews he stated many times that D3 was being worked on.

It's coming. But I wouldn't expect an announcement until E3 2005. Blizzard has stated that their focus right now is on WoW, and they've got 5 years of storylines for WoW in place. As soon as it goes out the door, I'm sure D3 will become the focal point for the company.

That being said, give me StarCraft 2, please!! It's been too long since Brood Wars, and I feel overloaded by the Warcraft loving. C'mon Blizzard.

I thought that Blizzard North was working on WoW, and that the other Blizzard branch (Blizzard South?) was working on some as-yet unannounced project. I guess it could be Diablo 3, but my bet is that Starcraft 2 comes out before Diablo 3.

I can't believe some of you guys are saying you doubt Diablo 3 will ever come out. Blizzard is all about sequels, and Diablo is one of their more successful titles. It seems like a no-brainer.

Actually, you if click on an enemy in Diablo 2 and hold down the button your character will auto-attack as fast as they possibily can. Since it's all based on stat comparision Diablo 2...
