Need help in decision to get an Xbox

I didn't like MGS2:Substance on Xbox because of the slowdown in the beginning and the controller.

There are crap games for all systems. Always has and always will. It's a fact of life.

I have experienced no slow down whatsoever, and whats wrong with the controls? Is there not an option to have it pretty much just like the PS2 controls? Some people just have to bitch about everything.

What the f**k? The only nonsensical thing I've said in this thread was my original post, and that comes more from my dislike for Microsoft than any sort of "gay asian" stuff. The rest of what I've said has either been defending the fact that the PS2 has quality non-Japanese games, which it does, and listing reasons that I enjoyed JSR Future.

And I love that you're calling out my dislike for Xbox when this forum is OVERRUN with moronic GameCube - and PS2, but not to such an extreme - bashing by people who are on the Xbox's dick. The difference is that I fully admit the Xbox is a great piece of hardware and it has some great games. A lot of them aren't for me, though, because they remind me of PC-style games, and I typically don't like that kind of stuff. I don't, however, use that as an excuse to call the system "gay" or the people who like it "gay."

Come on... modded or unmodded, the PS2 still makes either the Xbox or GC look pathetic when it comes to game library. Most of the worthwhile Japanese PS2 games come out over here anymore anyhow.

Sony's lineup of games for the Playstation 2 are overwhelming if were talking about RPGs, STRPGS and JRPGs. There's barely a handful of decent RPG's on the other systems. Other then that, the PS2 isnt that big of a deal, the only reason I play mine is to buff up on the FF series. Out of that category, all the good gaming is found elsewhere.

I'm asking this as a serious question and not a flame, though it probably sounds like the latter: has Square produced any good non-FF RPGs for PS2? Or any good non-RPG games for PS2 at all?

Well, they still managed to churn out Kingdom Hearts, one of the better, if not the best action/RPGs on the PS2, which really isn't saying much anymore considering how badly that subgenre gets overlooked nowadays. Front Mission 4 is also a pretty tightbangin' strategy/RPG, but compared to the recent Nippon Ichi ones and Square's own brilliant FFTA franchise, it pales in comparison.

It's still pretty sad, though, that the PS2 has been out four years and Square has managed to churn out only 2 decent non-FF games for the system to date. The new Musashi game and KH2 should change that, but I think everyone expected more than this.

Yes you should get an Xbox, Allthough its nowhere near as good as the people in here would lead you to believe.

Lack of diversity and character in software is the main offender, Its oversaturated with games that try to appeal to superficial gamers who only go after "gritty realism" or sandbox soft (see dull/generic and samey).

PSone, Saturn, N64
GCN, PS2, XBOX

I liked each system for what it was, and never bashed a certain system before I owned it.
