Think about the inventory system. Not the biggest flaw ever, but it is more annoying to use.

No it isn't. I played it for the PS2 and now for Xbox and have had no problem with the controls at all.

The default scheme for MGS2S on Xbox is horrible. Clicking down on the stick for first person sucks. I had an easier time adapting to TTS on the GameCube pad than I did using that. However, first person mode on R works well, but using black and white for leaning/inventory took a bit of practice before I got used to it. I still prefer the PS2 controller for MGS2, though, those functions all belong on the triggers.

Matter of opinion, I wouldn't touch a Ps2 for a FPS the controler is too small and the R1 and L1 buttons suck as far as feel for a trigger. On the Xbox you're actually pulling a real trigger to shoot. The clicking in on the stick is great especially on Pandora tommorow, it's a really conveniant way to cycle through your inventory for speed when it matters.

He is only talking about the first person viewpoint that you can use while playing Metal Gear Solid 2, not an overall controller preference for FPS games.

i believe it is type C where x is pull out gun/shoot and a is first person. This setup works fine and is almost just like the PS2 control scheme. I played the PS2 version to death and had no trouble adapting to control scheme c on the box.

I'm sure it's possible to adapt, it's just not necessary. This is one of the few games that are better on the PS2 =/
