Thread: If Bush ran for President against Jesus

We never did? Are you aware how many square miles of sand are in Iraq? I would hardly say that we have had a chance to scour every square inch to find underground storage bunkers, etc. Even the technology that exists to find such structures has a very limited range and, thus, would take a long time to complete the search.

Besides all of that, the invasion of Iraq was 100% justified even if we knew there no WMDs. Saddam was a threat to Democracy that needed to be removed. He wasn't the first and won't be the last.

    So, Yoshi...

Its okay that your president said to his people, (an act that goes on quite regurally in North Korea, btw), a bunch of untrue bullshit, so that we could act on our own and invade a country we really don't want responsiblity for.

People died directly over this decision.

People are not going to stop dying anytime soon.

And considering North Korea is probably testing nukes (hydro-electric plant my ass) the world is SOOOOOOOO much safer now that Saddam's gone.

But I guess that just makes me a douchebag, liberal right?

    How's this.

I would have been A-Ok with the war if I had been told the truth. I was until it was proven a lie.

And the reason, captain perceptive, it is so bad that he lied to get us into a war, is now how can we ever tell if he's telling the truth again?

    How can the world tell?

    How can you tell?

HE LIED TO GET SUPPORT TO GO INTO IRAQ, AND NO THE ENDS DO NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS CONSIDERING HIS OTHER OPTION WAS GUTTING IT UP, TELLING THE TRUTH, AND JUST GOING IN ANYWAY.

He just doesn't want to ever answer to anyone Diffusion. And thats a bad, bad, quality for a president to have in the United States of America.

You dont even know where I stand on so many issues yet you say trash like this. Fact is, the only thing political people talk about on TNL is the war in Iraq, then Almaci comes in and ruins it. So youre getting a one-sided view of me from one issue where yes, I do side with conservatives.

I've seen two threads Diffusion, TWO where you have gone against Bush.

And I read ALL the political threads.

You mean give more power to the idiot hicks in barely populated areas while taking away power from well informed and educated people in the cities?

That was in the 80s you dolt, at least try to get your facts straight when you argue your retarded points.

Oh BTW Reagan and Bush the elder claimed Iran gassed al those Kurds becouse Saddam was such a swell guy and would never do such a thing.

Iraq was the most closely watched nation with satelites pinpointed at every inch of the country, if SOMETHING was there they would have found it by now.
Iraq doesnt have the technology to build elaborate laboratories in bunkers deep under the ground, the few modern bunkers they had were build by the French and the US and are all well documented.

And tell us which democracy was Saddam a threat to?
    The Quwaiti democracy?
Or perhaps the one in Saudi Arabia or Iran?
I really wonder Yoshi, please enlighten me.

    Becouse they are?
Becouse they continue to claim that the French were getting rich and were getting kickbacks from Saddam and that Iraq had a nuclear program and lotsa WMD becouse a guy called Chalabi who turned out to be a spy for Iran and a man with a seriously vivid imagination said so instead of going by actual proof.
    Would that do it?

  3. Here's what I'm tired of the most though, and I want this off my chest.

If we were having this argument over John Mcain, or some random Democrat, I could see other sides of the coin.

But the fact that so many people living in this country are so quick to jump to the defense of one of the most incompetent administrations this democracy has ever seen, mixed and blended with the fact that everyone in this country have been so quick to cast aside their right to question the government because they feel thats inappropriate in light of the OMG 9/11!!!! disaster, and we sit here arguing over prisoner abuse because this administration can't even keep its secrets, secret while the world burns.

It just amazes me. It almost makes me believe in every conspiracy theory ever concieved, because people surely can't be this stupid and gulliable. The fact is when people questioned Clinton's administrations they were considered heroes, and when people question Bush's so blatantly in your face lies, they are considered paranoid.

    How is that possible?

What I wanted to figure out is how people in this country can sacrifice personal freedoms, and their own good judgement, for whatever gets us to our own ends.

I think I figured it out.

This country will vote Bush in, because we can't admit we were wrong about him.

This country will vote Bush in, because we can never make mistakes.

This country will vote Bush in, ultimately, because this is a country of cowards.

    There, I said it.

    Let the abuse begin.

Its pretty pathetic that a Turk living in Belgium has to school you on your own fucking history.

12/11/1941, Germany declares war on the US.
1/13/1942, German U-boats begin sinking ships off American coast in Operation Drumbeat

This is such a load of garbage. It blows my mind. The fact is, people are free to cast doubt on anything they wish, including the Presidency. Especially the Presidency. I can go to San Francisco on the weekend and see a freakshow of people doing just that. There are plays like this going on as we speak. I can walk into the bookstore and see piles and piles of anti-Bush books that do just that. There is no climate of fear.

This country will vote Bush in, ultimately, because this is a country of cowards.
Maybe if Democrats picked a decent guy the situation would be different. Twelve years ago, they did that, and got an 8-year presidency. This year, they did not, and theyll be going down in flames on 11/2. The Democratic Party needs some TLC now, and not from 527s like MoveOn. I hope they get their shit together by 2008.

Besides, voting for the rich, well-to-do, born-with-a-silver-spoon, Skull & Bones Yalie wont make you a hero. Or a coward.

Wait, which one am I talking about?

    Thats the point.

Considering we almost impeached Clinton over a blowjob (and don't argue he lied in court, cause he lied in court over a blowjob
Correction: Clinton was impeached. But it was stupid and ridiculous.

The French probably were making money off of Iraq, maybe not much but we did find French Roland Anti-Air weapons in Iraq. I'll excuse anything like that because we did fund them in the past and I don't agree with that.

Yes and as late as 2k Cheney was still lobying to have sanctions on Iraq lifted becouse they wanted an Iraqi contracy for halliburton worth three times what all French companies combined were making in Iraq.
Two billion dollars was the grand total of bussuines French companies did with Iraq and that was under the watchfull eye of the entire world under the Oil for Food program so there never were any payments from France to Iraq.

    Excuse me?
YOU made false claims to underscorer a non existent point which YOU thought you had and did so in a verry insulting condescending way.

Dont come crying when you are exposed for the fraud you are in the exact same manner you treat others.

    You reap what you sow.

A republic still has elected leaders. The point is that anything is better than a totalitarian dictatorship. Besides, haven't you figured out the simple rule that if it's the way the US does things then it is by definition the right way? Don't come back until you learn that one.
