I find it hilarious that these were acceptable commercials. Anyone know where to find other old game commercials? They are apparantly the funniest peices of advertising ever.

Oh man, I have some vague memories of the Dr. Mario commercial. And of that Zelda commercial too...oh man, now I'll have these bad raps stuck in my head all day =/

I can't find it on my hard drive anymore, but I had the commercial for Dragon Warrior. I don't remember seeing it back when the game came out, but the commercial is actually pretty cool.

Around the same time, Broderbund had one on TV that plugged both The Guardian Legend and Battle of Olympus in the same ad. As far as I remember, it was 100% in-game footage, too. TGL looked so fucking awesome that I literally begged my mom to get it for me (I was 9) for the better part of a year.

The Dr. Mario ad is just disturbing, the Link's Awakening one just scares the shit out me, and the JPN Zelda one is creepy, I love them all.

I hated video game commercials as a kid... They only did them for HUGE games, and therefore I knew whether I wanted them or not already, and the commercials were HORRIBLE. And when a 10 year old kids thinks that, you know your shit is fucked.
