Yeah, the license is yet another negative.

Thanks for the impressions. I knew this thing had come out and was wondering how it was.

Does Vincent have the means to change/transform into any of his other destructive aspects like in FF 7? Kind of like Dante's Devil Trigger?

Yeah, you can transform into his werewolf form to run around and whoop ass (I destroyed the fourth boss in a few seconds with it), but you lose your gun while you're in it and as far as I can tell you can only charge it by finding mystical no-reason glowing circles that litter the environment. It does look pretty sweet.

[edit] Oh yeah, also at the end of level four I think I just got the demon form, but I haven't touched stage 5 yet so I'm not sure.

    Cool.

I take it you cant play as Yuffie or Cait Sith yet either?

On second thought, dumb question.Square probably didnt have time to incorporate different play mechanics for two drastically different characters in a game designed around Vincent.

I saw some talk on the GameFAQs boards about multiple character playstyles, but I think they were referring to multiplayer which I haven't touched yet.

  6. I haven't played it, but I hear it supports kb/mouse.

  7. Sounds like a mix of pretty good and really fucking awful, which is muuuuch better than what i thought it was going to be. I actually like the one-eyed... stuff scientist girl description. Thanks, MechDeus.
    Donk

I must admit I'm incredibly tempted just to see what the hell it is. Standard deathmatch or something? Seems an odd addition regardless.

It's way better then I was expecting it to be, Squaresoft isn't exactly known for giving us excellent action games.

I tried to find a pic of the hysterical scientist but the only shot I came across was this terrible view of her fighting one of the Bloody Roar guys:

Imagine that outift paired with a white lab coat and large blue high heels, which is how she's appeared in all of the cutscenes so far.

  9. XD AWESOME.
    Donk

  10. The other thing I forgot to mention: hit points appear on-screen when you do damage just like they do in traditional FF games. Normally it's kinda nice because you can tell exactly how much damage your shots do and can tell when you score criticals, but it made for an unintentionally hilarious scene when a helicopter was gunning down some innocents while chasing them through an alley... and their hit point damage amounts kept popping up. Sorta ruined the whole feel.
