IGN: What is going to set Hurricane Pack Vol. 2 apart from the first Pack?

Itagaki: Hurricane Pack: Vol.1 required high skill and long play time but the Volume 2 is different. Volume 2 is a short scenario that can be completed in 30-40 minutes -- that is if you're a Master Ninja. The reason for keeping it short is to stimulate the competitive nature of the players who seek challenge. Just because it's a short scenario, don't let your guard down because we didn't take it easy on you at all. In contrary, Monsters are evolved, enemy ninjas have new weapons, and the new "Shadow" enemies will attack you with skills you've never seen before.

    ...

IGN: Are there new enemies? If so, can you tell us about the new enemies we'll be facing and how they differ from those we've already encountered?

Itagaki: First of all, your familiar monsters have evolved so you should worry about facing them. These evolved monsters are good enough to kill Hayabusa. Of course that's not all. We've created an all new monster. Be prepared to fight these guys who will appear from meteorites. To beat them, your old techniques will no longer help you. This new monster will bring fear and excitement to the gamers on this earth for the third time this year.

Awesome news. I need to step it up and get through the first Hurricane Pack. I stopped after I beat the regular game twice (regular and master ninja tourney playthroughs).

I'm sure they'll die to "run up the wall and slam down on the ground" like every other enemy in the game.

Which is easily the most rewarding and entertaining fighting technique known to man. God bless Itagaki.

  9. It's out now.

    Impressions soon.

  10. It's HARD!

The most noticable change is that now you get an unlimited supply of projectile weapons so you can use them at your liesure. But then, that doesn't matter because these weapons are useless against almost everything.

You can still choose several outfits like in the other HPs, but there are no new outfits.

You start with a level 2 dragon sword, a level 1 flail, a level 1 dabilahro and a level 2 Lunar. You get no items, you have to earn them all, but there is a Talisman of Rebirth in the tower where the 50th scarab was. There's no ghost fish in the tower, luckily. You have to find an Art of Fire Wheels again too.

All of the prices in the store have been changed, and Elixers cost a whopping 1500 a pop now.

Well, the first phase of HP2 is the easy part, you just work your way up through the tower fighting easy enemies (including new, windmill shuriken wielding ninja) and trying to get money and a few items. After that you have to go through the portal, which takes you through to the new stage, and this is where the new game starts.

As soon as you get to the new stage, you see Rachel, and she kicks a few monsters' asses, her boobs jiggle even more than they did in the original game, and then you see her get owned by two new female fiends (similar to Alma but with their own weapons). She gets lashed with a whip and then, I shit you not, ENCASED IN CARBONITE HAN SOLO STYLE!

Now your mission is to save her. You go through fighting endless hoards of powerful enemies until you reach a boss, and then you get a save spot and a muramasa statue, and then you continue your journey. I got to General Fatty and he kicked the shit out of me, his grab is much better now and he is even harder than he used to be.

There is a new armored Military now, so they are now immune to incendiaries, and they fire rockets out like machine guns now.

Anyway, this is as far as I got... more later. I hope that the guys who do the tournament in Tokyo this week are good, because if they're faggots, they'll definitely get exposed.
