Thread: DDR Extreme US

Just got it last night and got home too late from work to try it out... sucks to hear that it's disappointing, though =/

No one here likes Waiting For Tonight??

Every minigame I played let me quit by pressing select and start at the same time.

  3. I believe he wanted a real quit option. That's more like a soft reset.

  4. Mikhal - Putting your hand over the camera doesn't work, which is weak. It should be an eyetoy standard.
Cheebs - Thanks. I tried pushing select on the dance pad and I tried pushing start, but I didn't try them both at once. Wacky, wacky Konami. I'll get my revenge. ^^

It's been that way for quite a few DDRs now, Geen. I'm pretty sure I've done it in your face before.

  6. This definitely feels like a step back from Max 2. I'm happy to have home versions of V and A, but everything else is a bit of a let down. It'll still get my play time for awhile, but I see myself popping Max2 back in for some Candy and the like.

  7. The DDR Freak boards are all in an uproar (more so than usual ) because this game omitted the ability to turn the square, triangle, O and X buttons off on the pad. Apparently it is a feature that has been in every DDR home game since mix 1 and is needed to eliminate false triggers from those buttons. Doh! All you soft pad users and Cobalt Fluxers might be screwed.

In tiny nitpick news, I'm bummed that they got rid of the flashing "Danger" videos when you're near death. Now only the lifebar flashes. Shame since the Extreme shark was so cheesy/cool.

In other nitpick news, it is now impossible to AA without a full combo, but a full combo by itself is not enough for a AA (You can't have too many Greats).
Yup. 300 perfects, 2 greats, and 1 good is an "A". Go figure.

In good news, I'm diggin' the exclusive songs for the most part. The stepcharts are much more interesting than the Max2 US exclusives. There is also a healthy dose of Oni courses that don't go above 6 feet.

This game is trash. GUTTAH TRASH.

I bet EGM gives it a good review now that it sucks horribly.

SUB-StepMania amateurish bullshit menus, songs they obviously just slapped on there since they had them for KRev with shit steps... this is easily the worst home DDR mix of all time.

I can't express how angry I am that they found a way to make DDR suck. That is incredible to me.

EVEN FUCKING ULTRAMIX IS BETTER!! AAIIIEEE
