Electronic Arts' Team Fusion group, assembled especially to develop PSP titles, is working overtime preparing for the portable's upcoming Japanese and North American launches. The team of 150 developers, part of EA Canada, is charged with optimizing some of EA's successful franchises to take full advantage of the PSP's 16:9 screen and portable capabilities.

Up first in North America: NBA Street, NFL Street, Need for Speed Underground Rivals, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf, all of which will be available at or shortly after system launch, Spring 2005, along with two as-yet-unannounced titles.

Need for Speed and Tiger Woods were announced at the Tokyo Game Show today. Both feature Wi-Fi multiplayer and new modes customized for the hardware.
