You have to do a lot of sweep kicks.

Yeah, I was going to mention that... he hates to block low. I just kept doing the neckbreaker slide with Ibuki and it hits him most of the time. Hugo's crouching medium works well.

Oh, and don't kill him when he has a full meter, try to bait it out, blah blah blah.

  4. Hmm , well thats no fun .. but whatever works I guess. I'll have to play through it again when I get the chance to see where my main weakness' are with him. I do remember that whenever I usually try to keep the fight low on him, he breaks out that axe kick and or the quick backflip up followed by the kneedrop which tends to demolish me.

Doesnt it hit twice? If so than "not bloody likely" - I dont use the parry as much as I could/should - just the occasional projectile or something. Maybe therein lies my problem ---

It's possible to put him back down as soon as he starts recovering. Always easier for me.

    Depends who you're playing as.

  9. Versus Gill: He's extremely easy with just about anyone, especially Hugo. It's just about working your way in with cr.mk's, then Giga Pressing the crap out of him. As long as you don't kill him when he has an SA, you're all good. And everyone is right, he hates blocking low.

Alex VS Chun-Li: Lets talk about this assuming that she has SA2, which if you're facing anyone that even has the slightest idea of how to play Chun-Li, they're using SA2. It's a fact of just about every Chun-Li match, you're going to have to rush her down. Any decent Chun-Li player will use any time and space you give her to build up meter towards her SA2 and once she has that, you're in turtling mode.

Speaking as a non-proffessional Alex player, I would work my way in with st.mk's and a lot of his elbow dashes. To keep up an anti-air game I would aim for a lot of EX Knee Presses to make her think twice about jumping in, and then quickly follow it up with a wake up game consisting of two things. Either one, going for a UOH, or two, making her think you're going to throw, taking a step back and giving her a flash chop, or stepping back in with a throw of your own. Either way, it's going to be about rushing her down and keeping her off your back as much as possible. The second Chun has you on the ground, they'll start to rush you down and that is not a good place to be. Once you give her an advantage, you better get ready to parry your ass off or hope that they make a stupid mistake like getting in throw range.

Once Chunners has SA2? Turtle like a mofo. Alex's best poke is what, his st.mk? If you were to throw that out and Chun was to block it, instant SA2 right there. The problem with her SA2 is that it literally can punish just about everything. Your only bet is to bait it out with some wiffed moves from long range, or hope they screw it up. Rushing down a Chun-Li with SA2 is not something I would reccommed with Alex unless you're using his SA1, because then at least you would have the option of attempting to out frame her SA2.

Then of course, I don't play Alex that much =X But we were considering, as mostly a jab towards the rabid tier whoring that occurs everywhere, a versus Ken section on how to break down a Ken player. Literally, 9 out of 10 3S players I faced this weekend were Ken with SA3. It was really bad when people were able to select him without the character select menu even coming into full view. It's really, really sad.

Seriously, Ken gets whored out like a bitch. That's why I play Ibuki and Urien.

Hilarious Urien strategy: whiff with his headbutt and throw. Fun for everyone!
