Thread: Howard Stern heads to satellite radio

  1. Howard is just as funny now as he was before. Hell I think he's even more funny with better wack-packers and the overall Tom-spoofing which always has me cracking up.

The absolute funniest moment I've ever heard was when Tom was running one of those KROQ contests with the Foo Fighters and Howard, Artie, Fred, Robin and crew goofed on the contest rules and how absurdly long and impractial they are like running from store to store and such.

I was on the bus on the way to school when I heard that and I broke down crying in laughter, people on the bus thought I was insane.

Shit rolls down hill. Just as Howard looked like a prick for the gag order on O&A, O&A pretty much got the Radio Chick fired (purposely), and Ron and Fez fired (accidently along with shit canning the rest of the on-air talent).

Like Master said, O&A is an acquired taste. They were funny when they weren't being racist or doing their "cringe radio" bits which was pretty much most of the time.

    Howard Stern>Ron&Fez>Radio Chick> O&A
Holy hell you can't be serious. Radio Chick above O&A? You just blew my god damn mind. She was AWFUL. In every way imaginable. She had no talent and her show was so damn boring and unfunny it was only a matter of time till she got the boot. And Ron & Fez and O&A were friends. When O&A got fired the whole station literally imploded. O & A were pretty much WNEW, without them the station pretty much didn't exist. When the got the boot, Infinity dropped a few bucks to turn WNEW into Blink. Which died on launch.

I'm just saying Stern is a hypocrite and a pussy. And his show isn't funny. I think that covers it.

  3. To each their own. I guess you found it funny when O&A had someone snatch the wig from Psycho Patty out in public? They can be funny. I mean, Anthony clearly is the talented one. But on their best day they arent as funny as Howard on his worst.

  4. Let the battle begin.

From now on XM vs Sirius will be known as O&A vs Howard.

    PS: O&A is better.

Yeah that shit was great. My favorite shows is when Spaz was with them, easily the best radio I've ever heard in my life. He was so damn stupid you never knew what he was going to say next. The Spaz Week in Review was just rediculous. Howards show is a better TV show than a radio show. I just don't think he's funny, the show is boring for the most part and I don't like any of the characters they have. A big factor for me is how interactive O & A's show was/is. They have sticker stops, road shows, the Lesbian Couch, the best contests, the whole WOW movement, Instant Feedback and Internet coverage/community that shits all over what Howard does. No need to wait for a censored, edited E! show. In half a day images/movies from the show are up.

Too bad the studio was a mess for the first week, they had some great stuff so far and they have barely done anything yet.

  6. I was talking to my dad yesterday, and he said that he's glad he didnt get XM, because he wants to hear Howard (he's been listening to Stern forever - in fact, it was because of him that Im a Stern fan). Also, Im leaning towards Sirius myself because of this and the NFL broadcasts.

Nowadays, the fact that he has to clean up his act kinda brings out those qualities because he cant rely on raunch and stupidity 100%. If he has no boundaries... well that might change. And that would suck - I mean if I wanted to just hear raunch and stupidity without a wit of intelligence I would sign up for XM and listen to O&A.
And if that doesn't change I'll be happy, but I completely agree with you there Diffx. if he doesn't change, awesome, if he does... it just won't be worth it.

The Radio Chick got fired because her ratings were shit, like her show. She didn't need any help from O&A. O&A did speed up Don & Mike's failure in New York, however (thank God). Ron & Fez were never fired, they just stopped broadcasting in New York when the station changed formats.

Stern's show continues to be funny (albeit less so) despite the ridiculous restrictions he's operating under. He can't even say "crap" or "take a dump" for fuck's sake. Since he's getting 3 channels to program on satellite, and seems to be parting on good terms with Infinity, I'm hoping R&F might get a shot on there, even if it's just a rebroadcast of their current shows.
