That kind of bothered me too (along with Anakins eye scar and whatnot). It just seems like a calculated move to get people to talk about the weezing, and then find out that they "need" to buy the Clone Wars cartoon DVDs.

That gets back to the fanservice stuff that I'm talking about. Like Wedge shows up. With his back to the screen. And says like, "Yes."
Yeah, exactly. Your fanservice comment got me all tpying a big long rant. But I spared you all and deleted it down to the random opinions I posted.

  2. The movie was okay. Certainly far better than the previous two, but I'm not sure I would say it was much better than okay.

After hearing how supposedly kick-ass Grievous was in the cartoon, he came off as pretty pathetic in the movie. Just like Maul... why do the villians go down so quickly in a real fight?

I finally figured out one of the big problems I have with this trilogy - each movie takes place in eighteen different places, and you get to see each for only a very short amount of time. Seeing as how Chewbacca was a major character in the first trilogy, it was cool to see his home planets... all few minutes that we saw of it. In the original trilogy, each movie took place in only a small amount of locations, and we got to see and experience each. In this trilogy, just as we are getting introduced to one place, we're being swept off to another.
WARNING: This post may contain violent and disturbing images.

  3. Another thing I hated was the whole movie felt like just a bunch of short sequence of events, many not having much to do about anything, rather then an actual movie with a plot.

Do yourself a favor and watch the cartoons. Snag somebody's dvd first if you can, they're much better when they're played seamlessly together.

They do that in every single one of them, Empire especially.

Good point. I was aware of this too, but somehow never clearly registered until you articulated it. This jumping around from place to place and person to person never really lets a sence of presence develop.

And to echo the recent posts: I have absolutely no need to see episodes 1-3 ever again. ..well until Lucasfilms applies their midas touch and rereleases the added scenes, re-cut, new effects versions in 10 years.

The "midas touch" that is Greedo shooting first? LOL.

I wonder how much my pre-special edition trilogy boxset is now worth. I don't want to watch them again because I don't want to ruin the tape...but I really do want to watch them again.

    ...$2.79 apparently.

oooh, Greedo shooting first ... c'mon, what?!?, it's like "Please. Don't insult my intelligence."

heh, about the original letter boxed box set. A good friend of mine had his stored in his basement, and the humidity/moisture completely ruined the tapes. ..You've gotta get them sucker's dubed. ..and anyway, I'm not sure if they have that much value considering the English language Japanese laser disc transfer is readily available on DVD.

oh, ..$2.79 ..did you see that on ebay, or something?

I agree. That was a major problem with the first two movies. GL spent so much time showing us CG he didn't focus on the people. This time around, he focused more on the people, but he jumped around way to quickly.

I was thrilled at the one part where he just showed Anakin and Pad's faces for a exstended amount of time. He stopped and just showed how they felt. No jumping around, no cg bullshit. He just showed it as it was.

This movie was good, but it could have been awesome had it been two movies.

  10. I don't care what any of you say, Vader's NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frankensteiney hissyfit at the end = unintentional comedy gold

and I've apparently been beaten to the punch several times
